One Life
Shadow
Tear of Joy
Go back
I pass my time,
thinking
about things I cannot have.
I pass my time,
worrying
about things I cannot change.
I pass my time,
Crying
about things I cannot feel.
I pass my time,
working
for something that will not last.
Why do I pass my time?
Because I have nowhere to put it.

Jump off the bridge,
take the leap
Change the way you fall,
And life will take a new turn.
B97
Open your eyes,
And light makes you squint
Heed with your ears
And a loud noise will echo in their space.
Unclench your fist
And a pin will make you bleed.
Close down your feelings,
Block your senses and
nothing can hurt you.

Cross the street,
Look both ways,
Listen for traffic,
But don’t step out.
Because you are on a corner,
There are four directions
Don’t go back, you’ve already seen that.
Don’t go forward, it could be a mistake.
Don’t turn the corner.
It changes your orientations.
It’s just too new.
Just a future,
without a past.
Cut through the park.
Smell the grass,
the flowers,
Hear the birds,
the children.
Feel life…

I want to tell you a secret,
And you must promise not to tell…
But I know you won’t.
You never do…
You just sit and listen,
And hug me when I am done,
You are my best friend.
You give me unconditional love,
And I love you for it.
You are my confidant.
You are my Teddybear…
How can you tell someone you miss them, if you haven’t even said
‘I love you’…
When you look in the mirror what do you see? A scared girl,
naïve, aweful,
Trying to be an adult in an immature world.

Let your hair fall down,
Caress your shoulders,
Warm your neck,
Hide your eyes,
And your feelings.
Or tie it up.
Bound to your head,
Being hidden by a clip,
Grasping the strands,
Keeping them together,
Strangling then until,
Gravity makes them fall.
Untidily slipping out,
Exposed by themselves.
Up
or
Down?
Up
or
Down?

When someone knocks on your door,
And they want to borrow a pen…
When they walk past…
And don’t knock.
When you hear a phone ring,
And it isn’t for you.
You check your mail,
There is none…
You spend time alone,
content until you hear laughter…
Laughter you have no part in…
Laughter you cannot share…
Then you are alone…

Physical tiredness, comes on quickly
And disappears in the blink of an eye.
Emotional weariness…
Builds up, a lead in your soul
Grows unabatedely.
Your head falls low.
Your mind races,
Through all the tracks in your brain,
But there is no pitstop
Save your tyres, take the corners slow.
Conserve fuel and don’t rev too high.
There is not enough time to look back.
You look back, you crash, sometimes into the driver ahead.
Park your thoughts in a garage.
Leave the engine running, the door shut.
Let the gas cover you and let yourself fall into the sleep of the
undead…
You look alive, but inside somewhere, some part has died.
Choked, smothered.

Think of life as a lesson,
And mistakes as the teachers.
For one student there is always
a number of teachers,
And a number of friends.
Friends are the good times.
You join them before the lesson,
And they are there after the teacher
has finished talking.
You can never be friends with
your mistakes.
You learn and move on,
Pass your test,
Hand in your assignment.
Onto a new class
to be taught
a new lesson

When I turn around,
Life encompasses me,
When I look around,
Life envelopes me
But when I think of life,
It scares me…
I live life,
But do I?
I have life,
But do I use it?
What is life,
But what you perceive it to be…
Is life different for all,
or do we all share the one?

Light creates shadows,
Shadows hold secret…
If we don’t exert light of our own,
Maybe we should all sit in the dark.

Behind her eyes is hurt.
Unable to be seen by unloving souls
keen to be released.
Pushing out to the world
Bringing tears to her eyes,
Rolling down her cheek.
Lonliness and despair caresses her skin
She tastes the liquid, the salt, her lost youth.
Gone forever, can’t take that tear back.
But a new one springs forth
And rests on a smile.
