Once in a forest full of trees of gold An Elven city hid her lovely face; In song and tale mentioned times untold Her name was known in every town and place. Those who lived there dwelt among the trees In lovely houses far above the ground; Their harps they tuned to match the gentle breeze: Their voices had a dreamy lilting sound. They feasted every day and every night; Were skilled with both the sword and with the bow, Their festivals were quite an awesome sight: Never did an Elven head hang low. But to this land, this fair Lothlorien 'Tis said that none but elves had ever been.
