The Sixth Extinction

Welcome back everyone to what looks to be the final season. All in all this was your typical start to an x-files season. It had all the feelings of Redux to it. The seperation of the partners, the voice overs and the such. The only difference is that Mulder was the one in the hospital while Scully was no where to be found. Another similarity beween Redux and the Sixth Extinction is the role of Skinner. We don't know if he is to be trusted or not. We all remember S.R. 819, and they even hinted to it in this episode. But in our hearts we want to belive that Skinner is good. And I almost forgot the main connection between the two episodes is Micheal Kritchcoe (sp?) I must say i was shocked that Mulder set Skinner to him. When I first watched it and say the 'K' I thought he was going for Krycek. That would have been great. I was disappointed in the fact that there was no Krycek in this ep. But we can't all be happy. Although the apperence of Fowly was annoying. There is something about that woman that I don;t like. I really don't think she has his best intrests at heart. I just wish that Mulder would have said something about Fowly. We all know that he could read minds. Can't he tell how evil and how she can't be trusted to Skinner. Then Skinner could hav banned Fowely from the room and everone would be happier. Of course the ending wouldn't have been as great. Scully is finally letting her hair down when it comes to Mulder and beliefs. I was suprised to see her still on the Ivory Coast studying the craft. And even more so, believing what was on it. Also her feeligns about Mulder are made perfectly clear when she meets with Skinner. She is going to see Mulder and no one is going to stop her. If Scully isn't allowed in as an FBI agent then she was going in as his doctor or can she even say it friend. The scene of Scully on Mulder's bed was also remenicent of Redux. And of course the best part has to be Machete Weilding Scully.
