Welcome to My Home Page

My name is Evin Larsen, as you probably guessed. I am a student at Purdue University. Currently I'm taking the year off to establish residency (those out of state tuitions really kill ya). And since I was cut off financially, I decided to live here. If you ever get the chance to live here in Indiana, DON'T! No disrespect to the "Hoosiers," but Indiana has to be one of the most annoying states. This was the first state that I heard of that has more man-made lakes then natural, of course I had to get over the fact that they have man-made lakes in the first place.

Enough complaining about Indiana, a little about me. I know who wants to read this, but I'm going to include it anyway, so be quiet. I was raised in Washington State, then moved to Indiana for school. I came to Purdue to study Paleontology, but like many college students I changed my major. First to Anthropology, now I'm changing again to Computer Technology

Since coming to Purdue I've had to form all new friendships. Of course I had to do something to do that. What'd I do? I joined the Purdue Ballroom Dance Club. It's a great experience, not only do I know how to dance, but women love the fact that I can. Here I'm seen dancing with my girlfriend (at the time) at a competition. We ended up taking 6th place, and we don't normally dance together.

The team has traveled to many different competitions. I’ve gone to Louisville KY, South Bend IN, Champaign-Urbana IL, Columbus OH, Cleveland OH, San Jose CA, and of course stayed right here in Indiana. This summer one of my partners and I are going to go to Nationals in Rhode Island. She and I are the only couple on the team who are doing routines in International Style (the style that you see on TV), and we are extremely excited. Last year she couldn’t go to Nationals in San Jose because it was too expensive. This year however, we plan on driving.

As I said before, I'm from Washington State, and so my family is still there. My folks, like so many others, have gotten a divorce; so now I have a very extended family. Check out all the info on them.

Being from Washington, I just love the mountains. So much in fact, that I actually lived and worked on Mount Rainier for a summer. It was INCREDIBLE!!! When I got there in May, they still had about 7 - 12 feet of snow. I remember going sledding on the Fourth of July, how cool is that? Of course I couldn't just pass an opportunity up to take pictures, so here's some of what I have. If you ever get the chance to work there, I highly suggest it. The pay is good, setting is excellent and the staff is eclectic (at least from what we worked with). It makes for a fantastic summer.

Lately, I've discovered a world of many many megabytes of space, MP3s. I've taken up all my hard drive space, and I'm going to add a 5 gig hard drive, just to accodomate them all. In my search for songs, I've found many different places to go. Two decent places are Audiofind and EMP3finder. However the best of the places I found is Napster. They are still running in Beta mode, but the file selection is TREMENDOUS! They work by connecting peoples computer together and just sharing the MP3 files, direct computer to computer connection, it's great. There are a few problems, like there are multiple servers, and they're not connected, yet. Also, since it's still in the beta mode, there are some bugs, but it's still a great resource. If anybody out there wants to look at my 440+ files, my nick is Dormir77.

I also found a world of money on the net, just for having a banner on your screen, easy money. Sometimes your screen can get to be very small, but its free money, plus there is plenty of opportunity to make even more. I've signed up for several of these, they include:

Just email me so I can tell you how you can get paid to sleep.

When I'm not at school or work I enjoy snow skiing (though admittedly, I don't much of a chance to ski here in Indiana), surfing the web, rollerblading (espically down parking garages on campus), playing LaserQuest, building web sites, reading The Purdue Exponet
