Update: The New Skull & Bones

The April 10, 2004 issue of this report contained two slight inaccuracies: (1) George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, according to an article by journalist Eleanor Clift, will be testifying together before the September 11 commission. Conspiracy Nation had erroneously reported the two had already spoken to the commission; (2) Sherman Skolnick (and Lenny Bloom) reported that, according to Gunther Russbacher, John Forbes Kerry had been aboard the secret "October Surprise" flight to Europe. Conspiracy Nation had erroneously reported that Skolnick himself had made the claim, which seems not to be true.

Conspiracy Nation regrets these two inaccuracies. An updated, corrected version of the original April 10th report follows.

(Conspiracy Nation, 4/11/04) -- Information given in Secret Societies of America's Elite (by Steven Sora), especially in the last chapter ("The New Skull & Bones"), sheds new light on the power of America's "old money," "blue blood" families.

By "blue blood" families is meant those families whose ancestors were among the first to arrive in the New World. The immense fortunes gained by such families as the Astors, the Forbes, the Russells, the Roosevelts, and the Cheneys, originated in large part from slave and opium trading. Like European aristocratic families, these American old-money families tended to intermarry, as a strategy to consolidate their power. In England, the power of their royal family is hidden by the subterfuge that they are only figureheads, symbolic power. In America, its effective royalty is even more well-hidden, under the subterfuge that royal families do not exist here.

At Yale University, a secret society called Skull & Bones was endowed by William H. Russell of the slave/dope trading Russell family, in 1833. Yale University and members of Skull & Bones are twins with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). "The CIA as an employer is a virtual class reunion of Yale; both organizations have the same statue of Nathan Hale, and both are regarded as a 'campus.'" [1]

When George W. Bush was among the highly-select group of 15 "tapped" for yearly initiation into Skull & Bones, he told a fellow classmate he would rather join "Gin & Tonic." But Bush's father, "Poppy" Bush, knocked on his door that night and told his son, "It's time to become a good man." [1] So young George, like his father and grandfather before him, became a "Bonesman."

John Forbes Kerry

Many Americans are scratching their heads and wondering, "How did the choice in the presidential contest get decided already? Before the primary election even came to my state, John Kerry had already become the one alternative to George W. Bush."

John Forbes Kerry, "an heir to the China (opium) trading Forbes family," is one of a relative handful belonging to Skull & Bones. Before the 1980 election, Senator John Heinz III (Skull & Bones) had flown to Europe with "Poppy" Bush. It was part of a secret deal called "The October Surprise" which promoted a treasonous plan to thwart Jimmy Carter's re-election hopes. ("In a remarkable coincidence, Senators John Heinz and John Tower were killed in separate plane crashes within hours of each other, in April 1991." [1]) According to an article by Sherman Skolnick and Lenny Bloom ("Madrid? Rule By Crowned Heads By Fear and Terror," March 14, 2004), John Forbes Kerry reportedly was also aboard the October Surprise secret flight. In their report, Skolnick and Bloom reported, in part, as follows: "The secret air flight to the Paris suburb, October, 1980, was piloted by Office of Naval Intelligence Commander Gunther Russbacher. His signed, detailed statement shows that among the top dignitaries onboard were former Director of Central Intelligence, George Herbert Walker Bush, running for Vice President; U.S. SENATOR JOHN F. KERRY (Democrat, Mass.), an apparent American CIA agent provocateur previously posing as a peacenik..." [Emphasis in original]) "Senator Heinz, according to author Sora (op. cit.) had been married to Teresa Simoes Ferreira (Council on Foreign Relations). In his book, Sora reports that Ms. Ferreira, after the suspicious death of her husband, married John Forbes Kerry. With her came an inherited Heinz Ketchup fortune of $860 million.

"Dick" Cheney

Some say that Richard Bruce Cheney is the real power in the White House, just as "Poppy" Bush was the real power during the Reagan presidency, following the strange 1981 John Hinckley-connected assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan. According to journalist Eleanor Clift, Cheney will accompany George W. Bush when he speaks privately with members of the commission investigating the surreal events of September 11, 2001. ("The Wizard Of Oz Letter: Bush Pulls Back the Curtain on Who Really Runs the White House," by Eleanor Clift. Newsweek, April 2, 2004) Clift perceived Cheney as Bush's handler, there to keep "W" from saying anything too stupid. A relevant excerpt from Clift's report follows: "This was the week the curtain got pulled back on the Bush presidency. In exchange for allowing Condoleezza Rice to testify under oath, President Bush gets to bring along his vice president when he appears privately before the commission..." (In a previous report, Conspiracy Nation noted that Tom Kean, head of the 9/11 commission, is related to George W. Although "Dick" Cheney is not a Bonesman, there are nine Cheneys in the membership list of Skull & Bones. [1] Cheney too belongs to the secret blue-blood aristocracy: the first Cheney arrived in Massachusetts in 1667.

The van Roosevelt Clan

In 1649, Claes Martenszen van Roosevelt came to America. The Roosevelts, through intermarriage, are tied to the Huguenot family de la Noye, who arrived here in 1621. (The de la Noyes later americanized their name to Delano.) Warren Delano, Franklin Delano Roosevelt's (FDR's) grandfather, "made his fortune in the opium business, starting through the Grinnell firm." [1] Warren Delano's daughter, Dora Delano, married into the Forbes family.

The Roosevelt family became split into two branches: the Oyster Bay, New York branch (Theodore Roosevelt), and the Hyde Park, New York branch (FDR). Theodore Roosevelt married Alice Lee, daughter of George Cabot Lee, of the Boston Brahmin Cabot family. New in-law Henry Cabot Lodge became Teddy Roosevelt's political adviser. Theodore Roosevelt is known as a great "trust buster" (breaker of monopolies), but the deeper truth is that he battled only some monopolies. Teddy Roosevelt was aligned with the J.P. Morgan financial power. "After the turn of the century, a savage economic and political war developed between the Morgan interests on the one hand, and the allied Harriman-Kuhn, Loeb-Rockefeller interests on the other." As Morgan's "hit man," it is apparent that "Teddy Roosevelt launched his savage anti-trust assault to break [Rockefeller's] Standard Oil." [2]

It would be nice to believe that FDR was a knight in shining armor who saved us from the Great Depression. Unfortunately, as pointed out by Conspiracy Nation in a previous report ("FDR: Good or Bad?" www.shout.net/~bigred/FDR.htm), "Throughout the New Deal era, the median annual unemployment rate was 17.2 percent. At no point during the 1930s did unemployment go below 14 percent." Remember too, this is the same FDR who confiscated the American people's gold and allowed the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor. The truth about FDR is relevant today, because John Forbes Kerry seems pre-positioned to assume FDR's mythic aura. Hillary Rodham Clinton, another Yalie, had been slated to wear the FDR mantle, but was too unpopular to be swallowed. Look for Hillary to play a key role in the Kerry administration, however, even as the actual "power behind the throne."

The Kennedy Assassination

Supposed John F. Kennedy (JFK) assassin Lee Harvey Oswald was introduced by "Poppy" Bush associate George DeMohrenschildt to Ruth Hyde Paine and Michael Ralph Paine. "Michael Paine's mother was Ruth Forbes Paine, of the same family whose ships carried opium to China in the nineteenth century. Ruth Paine's brother, William Forbes, was on the board of United Fruit [of 'Banana Republics' infamy]. On his father's side, [Michael Paine's] ancestors include Cabots..." [1]

Skull & Bones member Henry Luce is the founder of Time magazine. When JFK was murdered in Dallas, Abraham Zapruder happened to film the assassination. The Zapruder film was crucial evidence, showing Kennedy as having been shot from the front, therefore indicating conspiracy. The Zapruder film was quickly bought and "archived" (hidden away) by Henry Luce's Time/Life Corporation. Furthermore, key frames in the Zapruder film were "accidentally" reversed, thereby making it appear JFK had been shot from behind.

The Laugh Curtain

The few times when presidential aspirants are questioned about their Skull & Bones membership, the corporate reporters do so in a tittering, tongue-in-cheek manner. A "laugh curtain" is placed around such questions, to defuse potential seriousness. Another sort of curtain went around the Skull & Bones questions when Yale alumni Alexandra Robbins' book, Secrets of the Tomb, was published. Her tame book notably did not premiere until shortly after the death of hard-hitting author Antony C. Sutton. Sutton, who wrote the no-holds-barred book, America's Secret Establishment: An Introduction To The Order Of Skull & Bones, was an expert on the Yale-based secret society. Fortunately for Robbins, Sutton was unable to challenge her watered-down views.

A "laugh curtain" envelops those delving into deeper truths about how America is run and by whom. They are called "conspiracy nuts," "the grassy knoll crowd," and "kooks." But as America's legal repressions against her citizens intensify, and as people are increasingly squeezed economically, fewer and fewer are getting the "joke."
