MELQUIADES VS. RANNOS THE FATHERLESS
Ultrann is standing, arms against the rail, overlooking the arena. He turns to Torgal, with flickering eyes, and says, "This Rannos is making quite the name for himself. I sense much anger and pain in his heart." He then smiles and says, "For tonight, I shall dub him the Sullen Sorcerer, and his opponent, Melquiades, the Leaping Lothario. Lothario is young and has raw talent, and will wield great power if he can fully tap into his abilities. The Sullen One is already tapped into his power source, but his inner rage may prove to be a weakness over time." With that said, he nods to Torgal to say that he is ready for the Pit battle to begin. Torgal signals for the gates to be opened, and the two opponents enter the ring.

Our Lothario enters by somersault, smiling, waving, and cupping his hand over his ear as if asking the crowd for more noise - to which they heartily respond. This is in stark contrast to the entrance of the Sullen One; he enters sternly, moaning as he opens the top of his robes to reveal his chest scars from days gone by. While his personality seems to lack, the crowd nonetheless is in awe of his track record to date.

Rannos begins by positioning himself against the wall, muttering words of magic, and grasping his harpoon. Melquiades does a cartwheel and a few somersaults towards Rannos, singing one of his songs of courage: "I... want to mock and cajole allll niiight... and party ever-y day...!!!" Rannos continues to wait, as if in a trance. The crowd's Lothario continues his approach, and begins to mumble and motion with his hands. At that same moment, Rannos launches his harpoon at Melquiades, grazing his arm with its barbs but not enough to impale him or disrupt his spell. With that, Rannos suddenly slips as if someone has pulled out the ground beneath him.

Melquiades continues his acrobatic-filled approach and again casts some more magic. Just as Rannos was about to right himself he pauses and shakes his head as if confused. He continues to lay on the ground. Melquiades then launches himself to a side-attacking position (against the wall) on his prone enemy, thrusting his rapier into Rannos' ribcage. Rannos bellows in obvious pain, but stands up and begins an incantation. The Leaper tries to attack him at this point, but is stopped by an invisible force. Melquiades attacks again, managing to penetrate this invisible barrier and striking the Sullen One in the shoulder. At the same time, Rannos draws his greatsword from his back belt and strikes a true and painful blow to the Leaper.

Melquiades staggers back from the force of the blow and casts a spell of healing upon himself. Rannos positions his shoulder against the wall, and again mutters words of magic. Lothario attempts to tumble to better position himself out of the mystical barrier's way. Rannos takes a swing as Melquiades somersaults, but does not connect. Melquiades manages to stick Rannos in the ribcage again, near his previous wound. Rannos unerringly lets forth a blast of mystical energy in the form of a torrent of water, causing severe external and internal damage to his enemy..

Melquiades, while battered and bruised, takes another stab as the Sullen One prepares another spell. While Melquiades' rapier manages to pierce the magical barrier, seriously wounding Rannos, it does not stop the sorcerer from continuing. Melquiades senses that the end is near and waits for the exact instance his enemy attacks. The Leaping Lothario successfully jabs his opponent in the chest at the same time as his opponent plunges his greatsword with magical accuracy into Melquiades' chest. Their eyes widen and blood trickles out their mouths. Both collapse to their knees. They both fall to the ground as their last breaths escape.

Ultrann leaps off his chair, bellowing "Well done, well done!! There can be no better end to such an exciting fight!!"
