PIT DESCRIPTION

I shall first try to describe the Pit but I will probably end up placing a diagram in order to truly show how the Pit is designed. The Pit itself is a large circle that is 100' in diameter. There are two gates entering this arena, opposite each each other. There is the eastern gate and western gate. There are other doors around the inside perimeter of the Pit but these are designed to blend into the wall so that the wall surrounding the Pit is smooth and continuous (except where the gates enter). The wall surrounding the Pit is 10' high and the audience sits on stone cut benches around the top of the wall and further back and up. Torgal's viewing balcony is on the south wall of the Pit approximately 15' above the Pit floor. There are other viewing platforms 5' below this and to either side. You might find the diagrams helpful. The ceiling is domed and is 50' high in the center and 30' high (from the arena floor) at the back of the seating area. Any questions please let me know.
