POSTAL CONLEGIUM UPDATE
 VOLUME II

Conlegionaires:
Well, folks, as you can read, I'm still around after my bout with mental illness.  I'm sorry to have done that to all of you, but the neurons that run this show were misfiring.  <G>  I'm doing a fair bit better and I'm trying to put this mess that I call a life back together.  Now that I'm seeing things in a better light, I've realized that I have too many things to do, to see or too say...as well as too many evil plot twists to use on all of you <EG>...so expect me to keep this thing going as long as I possibly can.
I'd like to thank everyone that showed their concern during my little trip into lala land.  I can never repay the help that you gave me through your support and other means.  I am forever in your debt.
I'd also like to thank Eugene Ko (Father Martin) for his donation that made the mailing of Narration 27 possible.  It was a real help in my time of financial need.
 Now onto the gaming stuff....

Party Positions:
As the result of various gaps in my memory, I'm not sure if I made this announcement, so excuse me if this is a repeat.  Tracy Patton (our winsome bard, Doran Moonshadow) has become the Conlegium secretary, and was nice enough to reenter the narrations after my game disk decided to drink some hot chocolate.  <G>  In addition, she will be handling the physical mechanics of getting the narration produced for awhile, while I am without a monitor.  Since she'll be bearing the cost of the production, it would be really nice if everyone could contribute to help with the expense...I'll be trying to do my bit.
In addition, I've asked Royce Day (Sir Talen) to be my assistant GM.  From his replies to the game, I've found him a conscientious player and a good writer.  My visits to Maryland to see him and Tracy have further reinforced that image.  With the amount of gaming experience he has and the talent I have seen in his writing, I'm sure he'll handle the various narrations that I'll ask him to produce in good fashion...and you might not even notice the difference.  <G>
I do have one position remaining that I need to fill in the party.  The gentleman, who played Rumil Finwe, decided at one point to no longer continue the game, and he filled the position of party quartermaster.  This is actually a role play/ real position.  The quartermaster is responsible for keeping track of the various party gear and treasure.  Simply put, the party finds something...the quartermaster notes it...something gets destroyed or used up...the quartermaster notes it.   The quartermaster could also parlay it into some role-playing circumstances...such as trying to bargain with a merchant for the lowest price or scamming a jeweler for the most on the party's recovered gems.  It will involve the occasional bit of paperwork, but not too much.  If anyone is interested, let me know.

BACK NARRATIONS AND OTHER FILES:
Because of the ever-complicating number of plot twists, it might be to everyone's advantage to have all the narrations on hand.  Currently, we have them in Word Perfect 5.1 format, and could possibly convert them over to DOS text files.  If you are interested in receiving them, send a 3.5" floppy to Tracy Patton and she will see about getting them to you, along with several other files that might prove useful.

PLAYER INFORMATION:
I need to update my player information to insure that everything gets to where it is going and I have other means to contact someone in case of some emergency.  After nearly losing Cain/Rick as the result of my files loss, I'm making multiple copies of the mailing list to be included with the Narrations disk.  I would also like everyone's phone number in case I need to contact them for some reason.  Phone numbers will remain confidential unless otherwise specified.  I would also like to know everyone's age, so I can tailor my narrations correctly.  As I am unsure of everyone's age in the game, I'd really rather not cause any trouble by writing something that might be taken as inappropriate.  So, if you all would be so kind, please send me you correct address, phone number and date of birth.

NEW PLAYERS:
As you can tell, in recent narrations, several new individuals have been introduced to the party and a couple of more should be joining soon.  So, I'd like to take the time to welcome our new players.  Our mysterious oriental halfling, Nodisco Origami, is played by Jason Carroll, while the half-elf Travanna is played by Elena Zupko.   Coming up in narration 28, the Macguyver of elven world, the rescuer, Alister will make his appearance and he is under the control of my friend, Carl Angoli.  Then, if we are all really lucky, that mysterious ranger will finally introduce himself...that is if my friend from Montana decides to play. <G>
Since, I am slowly editing out any deadwood in the game, if anyone knows any possible interested players let me know.  The more the merrier. <G>

UPCOMING ATTRACTIONS:
Since I am in the midst of updating the campaign, I'm adding to the depth and breadth of the reference materials for everyone to know my world.  I'm also adding some things that might help everyone keep up with the story, and not lose any possibly important details.  Here are a few highlights:
Long-term timeline: A fairly comprehensive listing of everything that has happened in the game in a week by week form.
Adventure timeline: A day by day listing of events in the given adventure.
Political/Geographical Reference: A collection of maps and text that detail the physical and political characteristics of the West.  It will name the cities, baronies, and states...plus some of the physical areas, like the Goblin Fens.
The Bestiary: All those monsters, real, unreal and mythical (?)  <EG>

If my prediction is correct, Narration 32 is going to have everyone else sharpening up their pencils or pecking away at their keyboards...and giving me some time off to catch up on paperwork <G>.  I'm going to end 31 with a campfire scene, where I'm expecting everyone to do a little more character introduction.  With the new players just discovering their characters and the old-timers having learned more about them, I figure everyone will have something to say about their character.  I'll let everyone know the mechanics of how this will work.
Well, if anyone has any bright ideas about improving the campaign, feel free to let me know.  The ideas can be in the mechanics of play, the storyline or whatever.  I want this to be as enjoyable a 'product' as possible.

CHARACTER SHEETS:
Since I had that mass loss of game data, I'm having to redo everyone's character sheets.  Since I have a mass of new people entering the games and I have altered my character creation rules slightly, I'm going to let the old-timers make modifications to their characters.  A lot of you are going to have more bonus proficiency slots open since I am now giving the full intelligence bonus.  Also, if you have a kit that you want to use for your character, I'm fully open to the idea as I now have access to the majority of the Player's Handbook supplements.  If you want to make the change, the time is now.  I will contact anyone if they need to choose further proficiencies to fill any bonus slots.
I've also added Comeliness to the list of character stats that I am now using, so expect to see it on your character sheets.  It won't really affect anything.... unless your character tries to charm the pants off someone. <EG>

Authors note: This second of the updates came after a period where the campaign was inactive.  To put it mildly, the DM had not been in his right mind and it took some time to recover.  In the intervening time, a few things had changed and were reflected in the update.
