The Hunter's World of Keyorin

The Galaxy is full of law-abiding citizens happy to follow the directions of their planetary governments, as well as The Old Republic, the Empire or The New Republic. But the criminals among them are sometimes too much for the local law enforcement to handle. And with travel through space so easily accomplished, jurisdictions become a joke. Although common in the days of the Old Republic, bounty hunting became very popular under Emperor Palpatine's 'New Order'. Many hunters grew rich off the Empire's slave trade or rebel bounties, and bounty hunting guilds constantly sprang up. Some hunters became legends, while others became objects of the hunt themselves. Hunter and Hunted, Stalker and Prey... the Galaxy is a cold place when there's a bounty on your head.

Other Bounty Hunters
BOBA FETT
Many legends and stories have arisen over the years about Boba Fett, the deadliest and most mysterious bounty hunter in the galaxy. He was once a moral journeyman protector named Jaster Mereel, but was exiled from the world of Concord Down after he killed a corrupt protector. Since the Clone Wars, Fett has worked as a mercenary, a soldier, a personal guard, an assassin and, most frequently, as the highest paid bounty hunter in the known systems. Clad in the fearsome armour of the Mandalorian supercommandos, Fett has modified it to become a walking arsenal. Aided by his well-equipped starship, Slave , Fett is relentless as he tracks his prey. Fett has worked for numerous gang lords, including Jabba the Hutt, and for Imperials. When Darth Vader hired him to find Han Solo, a ma: who has mysterious links to Fett's past, the hunter was successful. Solo's friends later rescued him, causing Fett to rocket into the mouth of the Sarlacc at the pit of Carkoon on Tatooine. Boba Fett somehow survived, and is currently at large in the galaxy.

BOUSHH
During Emperor Palpatine's reign, the largest criminal organisation in the galaxy was Black Sun. One of the bounty hunters it employed was a slight Ubese named Boushh. Unfortunately for Boushh, he tried to get more credits for a hunt than he had agreed to, and Black Sun no longer had need of his services. After his disposal, the mane and outfit of Boushh was taken by Princess Leia, who eventually disguised herself as Boushh when she attempted to infiltrate Jabba the Hutt's palace. The plan almost worked, but Boushh was unmasked and Leia was put in jeopardy.

GALLANDRO
Orphaned as a child by the revolutionaries and terrorists from Goelitz, Gallandro joined his planetary militia as soon as he was able. He was an exemplary soldier, but his lack of conscience and ruthlessness bothered his superiors. He became a mercenary and bounty hunter, his exploits gaining him the death mark on over a hundred worlds. Gallendro was quick on the draw with his archaic collection of blasters and pistols, and was eventually hired by the Corporate Sector Authority. Although he was adept with weapons, Gallandro almost met his match in a young Corellian pilot named Han Solo. After Solo tricked him, Gallandro tracked him down on a Xim treasure ship. Gallandro was faster than the smuggler, but he was killed by the lasers of a no-weapon security system.

DENGAR
If anyone in the galaxy hates Han Solo more than Dengar, it would be news to both of them. Dengar had once been a successful young swoop jockey on the professional racing circuit. When he accepted the challenge of an illegal race against a cocky young Corellian named Han Solo, Dengar crashed his swoop and sustained massive cranial trauma. He was kicked out of professional racing, and a bitter Dengar turned his burning hatred towards Solo. After a stint as a gladiator, Dengar became an assassin for the Empire, but his instability bothered his superiors. He later became a bounty hunter. and was hired by Darth Vader to find Solo. He failed, but crossed paths with the Corellian years later. Having helped Boba Fett heal after Fett's bout with the Sarlacc on Tatooine, Dengar teamed up with the mysterious hunter several times. Dengar vows one day to destroy Solo.

GREEDO
Poor Greedo wanted to be a bounty hunter in the worst way, and at that, he succeeded. A Rodian, Greedo grew up in a culture that prizes bounty hunters. His family fled to Rodia when he was young, escaping slaughter to relocate in the Corellian sector. On the spaceport moon of Nar Shaddaa, Greedo learned about the joys of bounty hunting from some disreputable hunters, and was unwittingly responsible for his family's death at the hands of the Empire. Greedo fled to Tatooine, where he was employed by Jabba the Hutt to find Han Solo. The overconfident young hunter cornered Solo in Chalmun's cantina, yet lost his life to the smarter, quicker pilot.
IG-88
Designed for a certain amount of autonomy and intelligence, the assassin droids of the Old Republic had been a law enforcement tool until misuse and reprogramming made them dangerous. When five IG-class droids were given semisentient programming at the high-security Holowas Laboratories, they escaped and slaughtered their creators. One droid, IG-72, became a bounty hunter in the Outer Rim Territories, while a second, IG-88, became one of the most fearsome bounty hunters in the Galactic Core. It joined in the Imperial search for Han Solo, even going so far as to ambush Boba Fett upon his return to Tatooine. Although IG-88 was apparently destroyed, it has since appeared in other parts of the galaxy. Meanwhile, the fate of the other three IG droids remains unknown.

ZUCKUSS
On the gaseous planet Gand, the tradition of bounty hunting is a revered art form. Gand 'findsmen' are highly superstitious, using ancient rituals and omens to divine the location of their quarry. Zuckuss was descended from a long and illustrious line of findsmen, but with the rise of the Empire he took to the skies. He became a tireless tracker whose affinity for intuiting his quarry's moves was due less to rituals and more, perhaps, to a latent manifestation of Force powers. Although he was a successful bounty hunter on his own, he was hired by Jabba the Hutt and paired with a brilliant rogue protocol droid named 4-LOM. The two worked well together, and after the death of Jabba, Zuckuss and 4-LOM roamed the galaxy together as a team in search of prey.

VALANCE
Once a gunner for the Empire, Captain Valance's promising career was ended when a Rebel attack torpedoed his emplacement. Left on the Telos-4 medical station to die, Valance was instead given the cyborg implants and survived. No longer able to fight for the Empire, the bitter man became a bounty hunter, leading a cadre of disenfranchised pirates and smugglers. After the destruction of the first Death Star, Valance attempted to track down Luke Skywalker and his rebel friends, but subsequently gained respect for the young Jedi-to-be. Later, while protecting a rebel, Valance was killed in a duel with Darth Vader.

SKORR
Enhanced with cybernetic implants and aided by a small Rybet known as Gribbed, the bounty hunter Skorr was a common sight on Ord Mantell. When Han Solo and his Rebel friends landed in the spaceport to repair the Millennium Falcon, Skorr tried to capture the Corellian to deliver him to Jabba the Hutt, using a captive Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa as bait. Han and Chewie rescued their friends and tricked Skorr into interfering with an Imperial Star Destroyer. Skorr was sent to the spice mines of Kessel, but he later escaped, teaming with a cadre of other hunters to capture Han Solo from the pirate Raskar. In a tussle with Solo, Skorr was killed when he accidentally shot himself with his own blaster.

BOSSK
The hatred between the reptilian Trandoshans and the hairy Wookiees is well documented. When the Empire enslaved Kashyyyk, the Wookiees' homeworld, many Trandoshans became bounty hunters, tracking down still-free or escaped Wookiees for their Imperial employers. One of the best of those hunters was Bossk, but despite his best efforts, he couldn't capture the underground Wookiee hero, Chewbacca. Once Bossk almost snared Chewbacca and his partner Han Solo, but the two tricked the reptilian, humiliated him and left him for dead. Bossk survived and later jumped at the chance to track the duo down for Darth Vader. Although he failed in that capture too, he still roams the galaxy in his light freighter, Hound's Tooth, hunting other prey.

JODO KAST
Crossing Boba Fett is not considered a smart move by most sentients in the galaxy, but Jodo Kast has been doing it for quite some time. Like Fett, Kast wears the armour of the Mandalorian supercommandos to aid him in his dangerous bounty hunts. However, Kast is not as well trained and has made some blunders in his career. Such mistakes might not matter, except Kast has allowed - and some times encouraged - people to think that he is Boba Fett, in order to drive up his bounty price. Kast has become more careful and meticulous in his planning of late. He prowls the Outer Rim Territories, trying to keep away from the real Fett and a potential confrontation. Kast knows that a confrontation will inevitably occur, but he plans to be the victor.

4-LOM
A protocol droid on the passenger line Kuari Princess, 4-LOM began engaging the ship's main computer in a series of games. As the games progressed, the computer and droid altered each others' programming, and 4-LOM consequently gained self-aware sentience. He eventually became a master thief and information broker to some of the galaxy's most powerful crime lords. Jabba the Hutt saw great potential in the droid and refitted him to allow violent actions, thus gaining the smartest bounty hunter in the galaxy. Jabba later teamed 4-LOM with the Gand findsman Zuckuss. They enjoyed mutual success, and continued to hunt as a pair for many years after Jabba's death.
