Greets! My name is Mick Hitch, 'n this is my quickly growing Web Page. I've tried to make it look as sharp as I can. So tell me what you think of it!
Anyhoo, My interests are eclectic and many. Most have to do with fandom in some form or another, and I include the best links I know to my favorite subjects.
Please give me an e-mail with any comments you might have. Thanks for visiting!
I was born in New Haven, Connecticut on February 21st, 1970 (you can do the math) But most of my formative years have been spent in the Tall Corn State.
I currently live in Iowa City, Iowa, home of the University of Iowa.
I'm an active member of the Science Fiction League of Iowa Students, or SFLIS for short.
I'm on the Convention Commitee of ICON 22, Iowa's oldest Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention.
If you want to contact me, you can e-mail me here.
When you're a fan-of-all-trades like me, you don't have enough time to really devote to any one genre.
That's why my main interest is helping promote science-fiction and fantasy conventions. They're great ways
of getting to meet fen who share your interests, be they Star Trek, anime, books, movies, games or whatever.
The links below list some of the finest Midwest conventions around. They're not huge megacons, but friendly
places to relax with your friends. All of them are great weekend getaways...I recommend going to 'em all!

Anime, or Japanese Animation, is a particular favorite genre of mine. The great thing about Anime is the endless variety of types, from the zany
martial-arts mayhem of Ramna 1/2, to the cyberpunk streets of Akira and Bubblegum Crisis, to the whimiscal worlds of Laputa, Castle in the Sky.
There's an Anime series that will suit any fan's taste.

Ranma Saotome wants to be the best martial-arts master in the world. So when
his father Gemna sets up a marriage between Ranma and his best friend's daughter
Akane Tendo, he (and she) naturally rebel at the idea. Besides, Ranma's got problems of his own;
due to an ancient curse, Ranma turns into a girl whenever he gets splashed with cold water.
Hot water will change him(her?) back into a guy, but only until the next splash. Add in his many
rivals, at least three other fiancees, and an ego the size of Tokyo...and you have a recipe for
one of the most popular anime shows in Japan. All this, and the ultra-cute Shampoo, too! Get your Ranma fix
at these great websites.
HammerSpace -- Learn more about Ranma and Co. thru the eyes of his hot-tempered fiancee Akane. The Shampoo Shrine -- Devoted to the purple-haired ultra-kawaii (cute) beauty of the series. The Ranma 1/2 Connection -- A visual tour of Ranma's world.

The year is 2033. War and natural disasters have devastated the Earth. Out of the ashes of Japan has arisen the city of MegaTokyo, the megacorp known as Genom, and the dangerously unstable and lethal androids called Boomers. Law and order is kept by the AD POLICE. But sometimes, the law is not enough. When rampaging rogue boomers stalk the streets, there's only one hope MegaTokyo has: The Knight Sabers.
Bubblegum Crisis was the first anime series I watched. To me, it's still the defining series on what anime should be: a mix of action, humor, and drama set in an epic world. Bubblegum Crisis is also one of the classic cyberpunk settings, and owes a lot to Blade Runner. Join the Knight Sabers in their adventures at these websites:

Pai and Yakumo then set out to give Pai the gift of humanity. Only problem is, some of the deadliest demons in the universe stand in their way. Another of my favorite hobbies is roleplaying games. I got started on the granddaddy of 'em all, Dungeons & Dragons.
But now there are dozens of systems and game-worlds to explore. As a lover of stories, I really get a kick out of running
my own creation through an epic adventure, be they the dark and shadowy vampire, the roguish devil-may care pirate, or the mighty arch-mage battling evil.
Below are just a few of the many resources for gaming on the Net.
Roleplaying Links
White Wolf Games -- creators of the Storyteller line of RPGs (Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Wraith, and Changeling) Zanzibar's World of Darkness -- The best collection of Storyteller roleplaying material on the Net The Salon de la Rose -- The Toreador is my favorite type of Vampire...This site gives you everything you need to know
about the Clan of the Rose. You can also check out my favorite character, Jacquelyn Marceau at the Salon. Steve Jackson Games -- creators of the Generic Universal Roleplaying System (GURPS) and In Nomine, the roleplaying game of heaven, hell, and all hings in between.
I am an admitted X-phile. It's probably the only show on television I watch on any regular basis.
With its combination of eerie Twilight Zone strangeness and the uberconspiracies of the government, it grabs your
attention and keeps it there. Fox Mulder and Dana Scully have brought new life into the realms of horror and
the occult. You can get your fill of X-stuff at the following sites...but remember, once you venture into the X-Files,
you have no one to trust but yourself...
