In the name of Allah, the compassionate, the merciful

Chapter 74: Al-Muddath'ir

In the name of Allah, the compassionate, the merciful:

1. O you who are covered!
2. Arise and warn,
3. And your Lord do magnify,
4. And your clothes do purify,
5. And impurity do leave behind,
6. And do not hold back, so you can get more,
7. And on the path to your Lord, be patient.
8. For when the trumpet is sounded,
9. That will be a day of an extreme hardship
10. For the disbelievers, will not be eased.
11. Let Me and the one I created alone,
12. And I gave him an ever-lasting wealth,
13. And children to behold,
14. And I eased his affairs for him greatly;
15. Yet, he is greedy for more!
16. Not only that, but he stubbornly refuses our revelations.
17. I will punish him increasingly.
18. For he thought deeply, then decided,
19. Deadly-wrong is what he decided!
20. Deadly-wrong indeed is what he decided!
21. Then he reflected,
22. Then he frowned and scowled,
23. Then he turned back arrogantly,
24. And said: "This is nothing but impressive magic!
25.            : "This is nothing but the word of human".
26. I will cast him into Hell.
27. And what will make you realize what Hell is?
28. It leaves nothing nor does it spare anyone,
29. It scorches the mortal.
30. Over it are nineteen.

31. And We have not made the wardens of the fire other than angels, and We have not made their number but
        - as a challenge to those who disbelieve,
        - that those who have been given the book (Jews and Christians) may be certain,
        - and those who believe in Him may increase in faith,
        - so both those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt it,
        - and finally, for those who have doubt in their hearts, or disbelievers; to ask: "What did Allah mean by this allegory?",
Allah thus sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills, and none knows the soldiers of your Lord except He Himself; and this is surely an admonition for all mortal.

32. Nay; I swear by the moon,
33. And the night as it departs,
34. And the morning as it breaks,
35. Surely, this is one of the greatest miracles,
36. A warning to mortals,
37. To anyone who wishes to move forward or remain behind.
38. Every soul is held in pledge for its deeds,
39. Except those on the right side,
40. In paradise gardens, asking each other
41. About the guilty ones,
42. What has brought you all to Hell,
43. The replied: "We were not of those who prayed;
44. And we used not to feed the poor;
45. And we used to join in with those who followed their worldly desires;
46. And we used to call the day of judgement a lie;
47. Till death overtook us.
48. So the intercession of the intercessors will not help them then.
49. Why did they turn away from this admonition,
50. As if they were scared donkeys,
51. That had fled from a lion?
52. Nay; everyone of them desires that he may be given new clean pages,
53. Nay; but they do not fear judgement day.
54. Nay; this is surely a admonition.
55. Whoever wanted (to be saved from Hell), minded it.
56. And they will not mind unless Allah wills. He is the home of belief and He is the home of forgiveness.

May Allah bless us all with His mercy, and lead to His righteous path, the path of His prophets and their apostles/imams.
