Comes the Dawn--this poem was first given to me by a friend in high school. Every few years, it seems to resurface to the forefront of my memory. Read it, and if it moves you, pass it on.
Do Not Go Gentle--I first thought of writing a story based around this poem by Dylan Thomas, but it won't flow. I still like the work though.
The Hollow Men--This TS Eliot poem was brought into my life by my AP English teacher, Mr. McKee, who to this day remains my favorite educator of all time. It's hideously depressing and difficult to grasp in places, but even a cursory read brings you a feeling of...well. Read. And let me know what you feel when you're done.
The Idea of Order At Key West--Wallace Stevens is my favorite poet, and this is my favorite of all of his work. It affects me...very strongly.
Bring back the season.
Bring back the time.
Bring back the wonder that used to be mine.
Laughing and splashing, we lived in a glow.
Bring back the wonder we knew long ago.
Bring back the wonder we knew long ago.
Wind on our faces, and race on the lawn,
Life was so new it would last on and on.
I was in love with the soft river flow.
Bring back the wonder we knew long ago.
Bring back the wonder we knew long ago.
