In sixth grade I was bitten by the "theatre bug", I suppose. I went through school performing, primarily...and then my junior year of high school I discovered directing. Whether it was some overwhelming desire for control, or just a heavier pull, I found myself growing away from performing at an increasing rate.
Unfortunately, directing opportunities are scant. I've done two children's musicals for the group I've been with for ten years, Mainstage Center For the Arts, and currently manage the show choir (Harmony) that is in residence there. I've also directed several one acts and the 1997 Camden County College spring musical, "Working". I've produced shows, been a house manager, gripped, sold refreshments, focused lights (sort of!). But my heart lies in directing, and I'm not entirely happy doing anything else. This summer I will feed a little of that part of me by assistant directing the Center's summer musical, "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying". It will be fun to revisit this show--in 1991, I played Rosemary at Camden County College.
This lack of opportunity has, naturally, led to extreme frustration. This frustration led my friend Steve and I to found Yorick's Skull Productions, a classic theatre group. Watch this page for more details.

Um...Huh?--my dear friend Josh is the latest of the group to put up a page, and I think it's coming along wonderfully. Josh encourages me in every creative endeavor I complain about, lets me sleep on his couch, picks me up (literally) when I'm low, and likes my cookies. He's the only person who can get away with making fun of my interest in certain actors who shall remain nameless.
Steve-land--Steve is probably the only person in South Jersey who is as frustrated by their place in the theatrical world as I am. He's the co-founder of Yorick's Skull. We're bitter together a lot. :-)
House of Bitterness--Justin is (shhhh) the LINE GUY! Well, he was. Now, I guess he's the Lottery Guy. Maybe that's why he's so bitter.
Ilissa's Loft--I taught her everything I know. :-) Ilissa belongs in NYC. I miss her. :-(
Funkopolis--the theatre company that my diva friend Gabriel works with. His latest play premieres in April, and I think you should go read about it. It looks fab, and I would say that even if he'd never told me I was his personal Seven of Nine. :-)

Dan's Crappy Home Page--Hey, at least he's honest. Dan does a mean Mexican accent and sings the heck out of "Out There". He threatened death to anyone who doesn't use the link from his page to mine. I suppose I should reciprocate, but I don't hang around Matt as much as he does, so I'm not quite that violent. :-)
