Gor is planet directly on the other side of this earths sun, in the exact same orbit,hidden from view. It is ruled by the Priest-Kings. In Gorean, the term GOR means "Homestone." The planet itself is, literally, the Homestone of its people. Each Gorean who has not been outlawed has a "Homestone," with slaves taking the Homestone of their owners. If freed, slaves can again claim the Homestone of their birth. Although it is not unknown for a person to change Homestones, it is extremely rare. Since city warfare is common on Gor, those that change Homestones are often suspect and those who are newly arrived on Gor are cautioned that declaring the wrong "Homestone" might prove as fatal as not having one. Newcomers on Gor will need to find a City and declare for it (for a good explanation on this, visit "#BellevueCastle"). Outlaws, those without a Homestone, are not even welcome on Port Kar any more.

GOR is not EARTH although many things from Earth can be found there. If you are trying to "think" and "speak" like a Gorean, you could do worse than to study the "Encyclopedia of GOR".

Caste of Inititates the representatives of the Priest-Kings in Gorean society. One of the five High Castes, and the religious branch of the government; their caste color is white.

Caste of Warriors the caste which includes infantry, tharlarion cavalry, and tarnsmen. One of the five High Castes which make up Gorean government, and as such the military branch of the government; their caste color is red.

Caste of Physicians the caste which practices the healing arts. One of the five High Castes which make up the Gorean government; their caste color is green.

Caste of Scribes the caste concerned with history, accounting, record-keeping, etc. One of the five High Castes which make up Gorean government; their caste color is blue

Caste of Builders the caste which includes architects, draftsmen, stonemasons, etc. One of the five High Castes included in the government of Gor; their caste color is brown

Caste of Merchants the caste of those who deal in merchandise and trading; their caste colors are white and gold

Caste of Slavers the sub-caste of the Merchants, one who deals in human merchandise; their caste colors are blue and yellow

Caste of Peasants the basic caste of Gor; they refer to themselves as the Ox on Which the Home Stone Rests

Caste of Thieves the caste of those who make their living by stealing, robbery, picking pockets, etc.; normally found in Port Kar

Caste of Assassins the caste of those who kill for pay; exist mostly in Ar, but have been found in other cities; their caste color is black
