ERB on the NET

Web sites to bookmark

The Federation Foil.
The Barsoomian Blade's sister publication, The Foil, is a tabloid newspaper set in the Star Trek universe. (Yes, there are a few ERB references...)

ERB Motes & Quotes
Bill and Sue-On Hillman's wonderful site, filled with ERB trivia, papers written by Burroughs and much more.

Tarzan daily and Sunday strip
Been watching for this to show up on the 'net for years.

Tarzan.com
Has been down while legal matters over the domain name -- "Tarzan" -- are wrangled over by lawyers.

Many worlds of ERB
Cool site.

Tarzan of the Movies
Matt has reviews of every Tarzan movie ever made. An excellent guide to the movies, and more. See Matt's interesting interview with Johnny "Boy" Sheffield.

Tarzan of the Internet
Another great Tarzan site. Includes an ape-English dictionary. Definitely worth a look. A ton of links, too.

Fans of ERB in Japan
If Tarzan looked at this page, he could learn Japanese by figuring out the "bugs" that are crawling all over it. The rest of us will have to be content with all the really cool Japanese book covers.

A Barsoomian Glossary
A guide to Barsoom, and more, compiled by Bruce "Tangor" Bozarth.

The Daily Press
Here's the newspaper I work at, if anyone's curious. Real-life journalism isn't quite like The Blade. Well, it's nothing like The Blade. I cover the city of Newport News, Virginia, for The Daily Press -- a 100,000 circulation paper owned by Tribune Co., which also owns the Chicago Tribune, the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel and the Orlando Sentinel. It also owns many television stations -- WGN in Chicago, and WPIX in New York, for example. And, yes, the Chicago Cubs. Go for it, Sammy.

The ERBCOF mailing list

The oldest mailing list devoted to ERB. (Since mid-1996.) Moderated, with moderation, by the two Jim Thompsons. (Long story.) Some of the banter gets kind of goofy. Discussions range from censorship of ERB and racism in the Tarzan books to the scene in Greystoke when Tarzan "takes a leak on that ape's head." Long debated has been the question of who is the world's greatest John Carter fan. And what kind of drugs was that lion on that Elmo Lincoln allegedly killed in the first Tarzan movie? To subscribe, e-mail: LISTSERV@APSU01.APSU.EDU [Note: That is APSU zero-one] In the BODY of the mail message write: SUBSCRIBE ERBCOF-L Your-full-name [Replace Your-full-name with your own full name.] To unsub: E-mail the above address and in the BODY of the message write UNSUBSCRIBE ERBCOF-L Your-full-name [Replace Your-full-name with your own full name.]
