I hadnt been feeling too happy the day I met the flood. When I woke up that morning, my muscles were sore and I looked into a mirror only to find 3 new maroon pimples staring back at me with their greasy, lazy eyes. Even riding my bike to school turned bad. Someone in a red Volkswagen decided it would be a good idea not to use their turn signal when turning right. However, they at least turned it on halfway through their turn when the car also needed to squeal on their brakes to avoid me. Grr, and hey, by now you may have guessed all my classes were a bummer
After I put in my hours at Soquel High, I decided to ride over to a park and watch the clouds, to get my mind off my depression. I rode over to this nice, vacant, grass-laden park with a pond in the middle. Groggily, I dropped my bike on the grass and slouched into a bench right in front of the clear pond.
After about ten minutes of staring at the clouds, I fell asleep, lulled by the wind and distant traffic. It wasnt for too long, though, as I startled awake and, to my surprise, felt my feet and socks wet. Looking down, I noticed the pond had risen significantly to the point in which my ankles were submerged totally.
By now, I was sick and tired of almost everything and I tilted my head back and moaned, "What the hell?"
From this monologue, I felt ripples running up and down my legs like someone had dropped a golf ball in my part of the pond. I looked down, expecting to see some whirlpool about to swallow me, because if my bad luck that day had kept on running I wouldnt be surprised to see a vortex, but I only saw the clear water constantly rippling.
My mind had cleared enough to know that something was up. I didnt want to get up just then, so I stared at the water, watching it closely for an explanation. Quickly but quietly, the pond receded to its original shape, except for the water around my ankles. A large puddle was shaping in front of me, defying gravity by not flowing back to its parent pond.
I leaned forward to get a closer look at this when the puddle suddenly burbled and rose in a 6 foot column.
I jolted back into the bench, staring at the human-sized post of translucent water. It stood there for a while, until it started to become more defined. It shifted and rippled, bent and eventually, became asymmetrical. The water then wrinkled and took the distinct shape of a human. A few more shudders, and it was finished. So there I was, sitting agape, staring at a puddle that turned into a teenage girl. Eventually, I managed to continue breathing.
It began to make the short walk to me, and on its way, it formed for itself flesh and hair, followed closely by clothes. It sat down next to me, and looked into my bewildered face and said, "Hello, Pat."
Luckily for me, I was able to come to my senses somehow despite the situation. "G-good afternoon "
She smiled and pushed some of her deep brown hair behind her. Thats when I came to notice that she was beautiful! Her face mustve been crafted by Venus. Her dark hair flowed around her shoulders like a brook over solid stone. Her legs were smooth yet hardy, like the perfect skipping stones you only find only rarely at the beach. She was wearing fairly tight clothing, yet not really revealing anything.
I was able to speak somehow, "Whats your name, my dear?" To my surprise I accidentally said my dear, something I normally reserve for people I love, or at least know!
"Dont worry about my name, Sweetie," she replied, "Howve you been today?" She threw and arm around me and crossed her legs.
"I cant remember." I said, truthfully. She laughed at that and I continued, "Where are you from?"
"Im from all around, but if you want to get real specific, lets just say from that pond over there." She glanced toward the pool quickly, "What are you up to today? I dont have any plans, maybe we can do something."
Damn! I thought, then stuttered out, "Uhh, nothing Im free today."
"How about tonight?"
"Oh yeah, Im open." It was a Thursday, and homework could wait.
"Can you meet me here at sunset then?"
"Y-yes, of course! Thats in about 2 hours."
"I know, Ill see you then, babe."
She got up to return to the pond, but I held onto her hand. I wanted to ask her a lot of questions, but she seemed in a hurry or something. She just smiled at my lack of dialogue and bent down to give me a kiss, but holy cow, it felt like a lot more than a kiss! She filled my mouth like a drink! When that was done (which seemed like a long time, of course) she walked back toward the pond and melted into it.
About three hours later, I was looking into my mirror. My mind had been like a whirlwind ever since I had raced home. I had been jumping around my house, quite giddy and still sort of awe-struck.
Id decided to wear just normal casual stuff, a conclusion I reached after much deliberation! What was I expected to show up in? I was meeting with an apparition, or a figment of my imagination for all I knew! I based my final dicision on the fact that she was wearing ordinary clothing when she came out of the pond (Came Out Of A Pond!!!)
I strode out of my house triumphantly, wielding my car keys (I ride my bike to school as a tricky illusion so no one bums a ride from me!) high in the sky as I skipped down the stairs. I entered my dream car, a purple hearse with three sub-woofers, two amplifiers, glow-in-the-dark flames, and a "La Coocooracha" horn, blasted the stereo to "Jail House Rock", and coolly set out for the park.
I parked close to the park, and made my way to the same bench, with squishy soil spurging under my feet. The moonlight set an eerie mood, and I couldve sworn that I saw two cranes flying over the park, towards the sea.
I sat down on the bench and laid back. I was extremely pleased at my happy mood after all the malignancy I had had earlier. I watched the pond for several minutes, expecting her to rise. When not even a ripple erupted from the hazy blue pond, I turned my eyes to the sky, a habit Id developed long ago.
I kept on switching my eyes from the sky to the pond, and soon became restless. However, there was nothing I could do but sit there!
It mustve been a while, because I noticed the top parts of the constellation, Orion had risen from the horizon, when I was startled to feel the grasp of cold water whip around my legs. I gasped as I looked down to see the water ooze up onto me. When it worked its way up past my torso, I began to feel a little scared. The water eventually balanced on my chest, then splashed into my face. I almost panicked because I couldnt breathe! I couldnt will my self to move around, but luckily, the water began to shift into her.
We ended up with her lying on top of me, providing me with another one of those bad-ass kisses. When she turned to flesh, I finally calmed enough to relax my wide eye lids from fright into pleasure.
It felt like the rest of Orion had risen by the time she drew her moist lips from mine. Staying on top of me, she spoke, "Whereve you been, hot stuff?"
After enough time had passed so that I could regain some composure, I replied, "Right here, waiting for you."
She smiled, "I know, Ive been watching you from the pond."
This made me befuddled as to why she had asked the first question, but she continued, "Where to?"
"To a movie?" I said, Id thought of this earlier. I looked at my wet watch to check time, "Army of Darkness is playing in half an hour over at the Extreme-O-Plex."
She grinned, "Sounds good."
She lifted herself off of me by using some very "strategic" support points, and looked towards my hearse. She was wearing a blue tube top and her pants were those neat shinny black ones. The moonlight shined off of her curves quiet nicely too. I noticed that she had also drawn with her all the water shed saturated into my clothes.
We walked over the muddy ground, her with her loose arms draped over my neck, and I cordially opened the door for her, then darted around and jumped into the car. She had a CD in her hand and plunked it into the correct orifice. I noticed that she had left a drop of water leaking out of the CD slot. My eyes froze at the horrific sight. I couldnt loose my cool now though!
I used quick, tactful techniques, and said, "Oooo, look at the moon!"
She switched her gaze out the window and I zoomed with bottom of my shirt in hand and wiped the player dry.
We zoomed off to the movies.
We got out of the car, and while passing around to join her, I noticed her seat was wet. My dream car in danger!!!
Once she was out of the way, I "accidentally" fell into her place and squirmed around as much as I could to absorb some of the water. I got up after she inquired as to what I was doing. I was crying inside, crying!
Eventually, we got into the theatre, our arms locked, my back cold and wet, her smiling fiendishly for some reason. She insisted that we sit at the front row, "Because theres no incline." I nodded to that, and didnt see why until we sat down. She tilted her head back in her seat and from her feet, let off enough water to bring the entire flat floor to a one inch depth! I could only wonder what the emergency exits were facing
During the movie- one of my favorite movies- I had no way of giving her my entire attention, but she desired me constantly! The moment Id turn my head from her for a good part, shed do something to my ear! She was quite dominating.
At one of the best scenes, where a geyser of blood emits from the ground, I had to say, "Hold on!"
She did for a moment before tackling me on the wet concrete floor! No one else in the theatre noticed, because thats a really good scene in the movie. The water around us surged and swirled, up past my ears, almost completely submerging me!
Now this constant, ravaging desire for me she had was getting ridiculous. She was dominating my life, on only the first date! She wrecks my car (big offense), makes me paranoid, and diverts my attention from Army of Darkness (ohhhhh!).
I grabbed her arms and tore her off of me. "As much as I love affection, Im not down with this. Youre screwing things up, baby!"
I couldnt say any more for her sake, but Id said too much. She snarled at me, with the ferocity I never knew such beauty could contain. The water rose quickly, and I could hear the astonishment and terror of the other movie go-ers. I guessed they all cleared out, because all I could hear was water sloshing about me.
She lifted me in a gigantic pool filling the theatre quickly. I stayed afloat pretty well though, she didnt have any under-tows or anything The water swelled further until the roof was just over head. I managed to get to a sun roof, luckily for my life.
Pulling myself up and out, I kicked the tinted sun roof shut and watched the water lick the pane.
Soon after, she said, "You were just a pawn to feed my curiosity. Ive seen several people make-out on the bench you were sitting on. When you came along, you looked lonely, or something. You did like me at first, oh well "
The water gushed back down fast. I opened the window, and yelled, "Whats your name?"
No reply as she gushed through an emergency door and into the sewers.
Strange.
