PETE WHITE Mo'o (2002). Woodcut. 9 x 12 1/4". |
This is the third of my Kapa Amakua series, and was completed in June of 2002. Mo'o is the Hawaiian word for gecko. The image is of a gecko, along with two of the traditional Hawaiian petroglyphs for gecko.
This was printed with two blocks. The brown background is a piece of OSB, which I added texture to by sandblasting. It was done with oil-based ink on paper, and hand-printed on a press.
The edition is of 15. There are prints available.
