Artist's Comments:

This is a portrait of the German artist Max Beckmann, based on a 1938 photograph of him in his studio. I was inspired while studying his woodcuts in a graduate seminar at UCR.


Technical Notes:

This was done with water-based Daniel Smith ink on BFK Rives paper, and hand-printed on a press.
