PETE WHITE Pua'a (2002). Woodcut. 9 x 12 1/4". |
This is the fourth of my Kapa Amakua series, and was completed in June of 2002. Pua'a is the Hawaiian word for pig. The image is of a wild pig, along with the traditional Hawaiian petroglyph for pig.
This was printed with two blocks. The brown background is a piece of OSB, which I added texture to by sandblasting. It was done with oil-based ink on paper, and hand-printed on a press.
The edition is of 10. There are prints available.
