PETE WHITE Self-Portrait (1999). Woodcut. |
This was the first woodcut that I ever made. The gang in the printmaking studio at CSUSB remarked on how much it looked like a German Expressionist print. I hadn't seen them before, but when I looked them up, I could see what they meant.
This was carved with cheap tools on a plank of pine from Home Depot. It was done with oil-based Daniel Smith ink on paper, and hand-printed on a press.
The edition is of 10. There are prints available.
