Part 2

LADY BLISS MEETS SHAYANNA`S FATHER

Ristin Pieare Griƒƒinsbane was hunting.
The rain had stopped and he was sure to find game.
He had not found game in his ususal hunting ground in weeks
and had decided to try an uncharted section of the Forest.
Truth be told he LOVED to explore.

His ears perked up.
Is that the sound of a child crying!?
OUT HERE!?
He went to investigate and found the strange Elven child lying on the ground.
Her skin was brown.
What the hell?

Lady Bliss watched silently from the trees.
Her keen sense of smell had detected the Moon Elf.
She would ambush him.
The Moon Elf came into view.
A GRIFFINSBANE!
The crest he wore depicted the
Warrior caste of the House of Pintel of Alfheim woods!
They were famous for their prowness in combat!
A worthy opponent indeed!
To kill a Griffinsbane is something to be proud of!
Slowly she drew Zenbrittem...

Lady Bliss was good, but Ristin was a veteren warrior and sensed her.
Drow. Tis a trap.
He thought to himself as the "Black Razor" flew to his hand.

Lady Bliss landed gracefully in back of Ristan.
Standing fearlessly with "Zenbrittem" in her hands.

"Ye are trespassing in me territory.
State thou bussiness."

Ristin was certain he would fight.
Drow were known enemys of the Moon Elfs.
"I was hunting when I heard the child crying."
"I was unaware twas Drow territory.
I wish not to fight and will leave now."
He slowly backed away.

"I think not Grey Elf. Today ye die."

"I said I wish not to fight!"

Bliss knew her enemy and she knew them well.
She would get him to fight.
"I was unaware Griffinsbanes were cowards."

Ristan stopped in his tracks.
Lady Bliss had cut to the bone with that statement.
Ristin got into an offensive stance.

With astounding speed and dexterity,
Bliss executed a forward roll and leapt up in to a spin,
Zenbrittems deadly blade aimed at Ristins neck.

The Black Razor reacted as if alive and somehow
parried the blow and counter struck,
Bliss however came out of her spin and locked blades with him.

They stood inches from each other, looking deep into eachothers eyes.
Both were amazed at each others strength.
Males were the strongest of the Moon Elfs
and Females were the strongest of the Drow.
They were both expecting the other to be of the weaker sex.
They were both quite wrong.

Ristan reacted first.
Sending her sword high, he then spun and slashed for her midsection.
Bliss was FAR too quick for such a simple tactic.

She leapt over his blade and kicked him dead square in the face
knocking him to the ground.
She thrust at his neck but the skilled warrior
rolled out of the way and was on his feet, blood trickling from his nose.

The two warriors slowly circled each other looking for an opening.

Ristin was no weapons Master,
but his endurance and determination were apparant.
He was of the warrior caste and was the veteren of many battles.
He fought with discipline and technique.

Bliss was also an experianced veteren.
She had no use for technique however,
for technique can be memorized by the enemy.
She fought with pure savagery and instinct.
Raw fury was her technique.

Bliss feignted to the right,
threw her sword into her other hand and slashed left.
Caught unsuspecting, Ristins left shoulder was cut to the bone.
She held back the death blow to savor the victory
and the fear of her opponent.
That fear never came.

A low humming sound and a blue aura started coming from the Black Razor.
An evil gleam shone in Ristins eyes.

Losing all technique,
Ristin went on the offensive with a flurry of quick, strong slashes.
It was all Bliss could do to hope to block.
One slash got through cutting her across the left breast.
Bliss was NEVER struck in battle before.
She was in trouble and she knew it.

Bliss reacted quickly casting Fairie fire on Ristin.
Ristin was startled and recovered quickly.
Not quickly enough however.

Bliss swung wide catching the cross piece of Ristins
sword sending it flying.
She then pivioted on her heel and swung
her left leg low sweeping Ristin off his feet.
She stood above her opponent.
She was victorious.

Ristin looked up at her in hatred.
He stuck his arm out and the Black Razor flew to his hand.

Bliss stepped on his wrist and put the tip of her blade to his throat.
A small trickle of blood started to flow.
The battle was over.

She reached down and took the golden headband from his head.
The Griffinsbane crest was her trophy of her kill and she put it on her
forehead as a final insult to her victim.
Then she heard Twinta crying.

A thought occured to her.
"Yeild Moon Elf."

"I WILL NOT YEILD! FINISH THE FIGHT DROW!"

Yes.
Bliss thought to herself.
This Elf is strong and a capable fighter.
He could have just as easily defeated me!
And even faced with certain death he shows no fear!!

It was the first enemy Bliss ever respected.
She would choose him as the father.

She sheathed her sword and slowly removed her foot from his wrist.
Ristin executed a backward roll and got into an offensive crouch.
"Draw thou sword Drow."

Bliss stood there with her arms crossed.
"Nay."

Ristin was confused.
"What do ye mean nay!?"

Bliss walked over calmly and picked up the child.
She knew the Griffinsbanes reputation for not attacking
unarmed people so she was not worried.
She turned to face him.

"The child is half Moon Elf."
"She is me sister and was ordered to be put to death."
"If ye would I wish ye to take her for I cannot help her."
"I have spared thou life so ye owe me."

Ristin sensed sincerity and had no choice but to take the child.
He would not, COULD NOT.
Leave an innocent child to die!
"I owe ye nothing!"
"I will care for the child as if it were me own."
"But know this Drow."
"I do this not for ye but for the child."
He carefully took the child from Bliss and backed away.

"Thank ye."
Lady Bliss became one with the darkness and
disappeared right before Ristins eyes...
