The Games of Saberhaven
Jurak Snowaxe vs. Kraag

The doors opens to hightened anticipation. The crowd cheers when they announce Kraag, the part-man, part-scorpion creature known as a manpion. The crowd has seen him fight many a time as a slave in the gladiator pens.
Not as much of a welcome, the endentured Iceling known as Jurak Snowaxe steps forth with his two large swords, too large and heavy for a normal man to carry but in two hands, yet the Iceling hefts them in one each.
The manpion too hold two swords, short ones, in his man-hands. His scorpion claws surry forward, wide pincers clicking, spiked tail wipping side to side.
In an unexpected move, the Iceling, runs forward, falls to the ground then rolls, coming to a complete stand to the left of Kraag. The manpion gets in a shot with the sword as the Iceling stands up, knocking the tall one off a step.
Jurak swings a rather quick jab at Kraag, but misses the nimble creature. The stalwart manpion, in return, misses a sword shot, but lands two more to the Iceling's mid-section.
The Iceling takes stock of the situation, steps back from the onslaught, and launches at the manpion with a brilliant shot to his torso. The successful strike actually seems to re-energize the Iceling as they fight on.
Jurak takes his time and finds a spot before he strikes out again. But, the dexterious scorp-man is too quick, dodging the blow as Jurak stumbles and nearly drops his sword.
As the Iceling is off balance, Kraag moves in, striking first from the top with his tail stinger. The venom stings the Iceling, but does not take its toll, thus far.
From beneath, the manpion brings his claws to snap up, but he overextends one to the far right, pulling him off track and twisting his foot. He recovers quickly, but slows down somewhat as his many other feet take over the movement duties.

Kraag lunges forward with his swords again. Jurak jumps back a step, dodging the first. On his second swipe, the manpion slips off balance, and stumbles to his knees.
The Iceling takes the chance to furiously attacks the stumbling manpion. The off-balance manpion is able to roll away from the first two swipes of Jurak's sword. The third lands squarely in the creature's side and Jurak once again seems invigorated slightly by the strike.

Climbing to his feet, the manpion starts a furious volley with a sweeping blow aimed at the Iceling's upper arm and a second cutting deeply into his thigh.
Jurak, heavily injured and weakened, tries to sling back, but overextends himself with his heavy sword, falls to catch himself and in turn sprains his ankle.
Moving on this opportunity, Kraag snaps both claws around the Iceling's ankles, Jurak screaming in pain. The manpion's stinger strikes from above, inflicting yet another dose of poison into the Iceling.
Kraag strikes again with his sword, knocking the Iceling unconscious.
The crowd cheers for the manpion who climbs atop the fallen Iceling and raises his swords into the air. After his kudos, he slowly walks off while the healers rush to aid the fallen Iceling.
