The Games of Saberhaven Quim vs. Hon Sounder
|
A strange sight indeed, as the doors open the bard, Hon Sounder, flies into the Arena sturmming his madolin loudly and singing. At the other end, the druid Quim barely steps into the Arena when he summons down a Lightninbolt on the flying bard. The bard is seared but stiull flies. He soon stops his singing as the two advance to meet. Quim raises his Satff of the Woodlands and summons forth a 65' long, 10' high and 20' deep wall of thorns. The bard flies to the top of the wall, looks over it and fires three darts at the druid. The first flies wide but the second two stick in the man's right leg. Quim half moves into the wall of thorns, out of the bard's view. he starts casting, but is suddenly grabbed by an Entangle of thorns, holding him tight and disrupting his enchantment. Entangled in his own wall of throns, Quim decides to change tactics. Since he created the wall, he dismisses it with a thought. The druid shapeshifts into a large hawk and flies into the air. He circles a bit while the bard mumbles to himself. As the bird dives at Hon, he suddenly disappears bron the avian's view. The bird-druid flies higher, hoping to outrun his invisible opponent and giving him time to think. Unseen to the bird-druid, the bard casts a spell. Quim resists the charm effects and flies on. Frustrated, Quim lands and regains his normal human apperance. Immediately the Bard comes into view for the druid, flying just off the ground about 20 feet away. He seems to be finishing another incantation, for quickly a swarm of insects surrounds the druid. The druid smiles and pulls forth his sling. He launches two sling bullets through the insect swarm, landing both shots. The bard stays focused on the insects. The druid tries again with his sling. The first bullet flies wide. The bard releases his own missile, a spear, which catches the leg of Quim. The injured druid slings another bullet, but overcompensates for his new leg injury and twists his ankle. Quim begins an incantation. The bard sees the spell about to come to fruition and crucks his last javelin at the druid. The javelin flies wide and a great gust of wind comes up. The druid controls the winds which blow away the insects and knock the bard to the ground. Quim cast another spell, transmuting the rock to mud under Hon. The bard sinks into the mud as it appear, unable to get his footing. The druid invokes the fury of the batural world yet again, turning the mud back into solid earth, trapping the bard half in the earth. Hon signals for a submission, obviously caught without any way to free himself.
