The Games of Saberhaven
Frump vs. Gnash
Coming nimbly into the Arena from the other side is one abnormal sight. The warriors name is Gnash and he is one of the superior gnolls known as the Flind, who themselves are rare occurences anywhere. What is more unusual is the fact the Gnash wears an elven cloak and the symbol of an elven god. He carries many different types of unusual weapons. He carries a bow knocked and ready with an arrow to let fly.
As soon at the Flind sights the human in his sights he lets loose an arrow and then three more in quick succession.
The human fighter justs dodges the incoming arrows, and sets off in a run towards the walls of the Arena. Once in a while he seems to stop and point his sword at his opponent, but he feels no effect.
Gnash watches the crazed fighter and keeps taking aim and firing arrows.
The fighter stops and once more points his sword at the Flind. Suddenly Gnash looks down in amazement as his armor starts to slowly rust and the fighter laughs at the Flind.
The Flind looks down at his armor and does an audible "hmmph." He looks at the warrior and smiles as a cloud of darkness expands from his body. It extends to around twenty feet.
The crowd watches as the cloud of darkness starts to quickly advance towards the fighter.
The fighter points his sword at the cloud of darkness and two tiny arrows seem to appear from the sword and fly towards the area. The crowd does not see anything visible happen.
The cloud keeps advancing towards the fighter, and the fighter is immersed in the darkness. The crowd boos as they cannot see what is going on.
The fighter laughs and his body expands until he is eighteen feet tall. Frump backs out of the darkness, and laughs at the flind some more.
The crowd cheers for they can finally see some of the action.
The darkness shifts once more and moves towards the fighter when the crowd sees an expression of pain come from the giant.
The crowd watches as the giant shrinks back down into the darkness, when suddenly the fighter once more appears out of the darkness flying upon golden wings.
The figure points his sword down at the cloud of darkness and chants some word that the crowd cannot make out.
The globe of darkness stops and seems not to move as whatever the fighter said seems to have taken effect.
The cloud of darkness seems to not move at all, and the figure flies backwards leaving the darkness all together. Once again he points his sword at the cloud and two tiny objects seem to fly from it towards the cloud of darkness.
Frump launches himself backwards with his wings while two tiny objects once again appear and fly towards the figure, both entering the darkness.
The crowd cheers as four arrows come from out of the darkness slicing through the air, two of which the fighter dodges, the other two flying wide, although the crowd hears a noise as one of the arrows disappears from out of sight behind the fighter.
Frump slowly disappears and a Aarakocra appears in that spot with a arrow sticking through its chest. he bird slowly falls to the ground, when from behind the darkness two more tiny arrows appear zooming into the darkness.
The crowd watches as the darkness slowly dissipates with the body of the Flind lying upon the ground, a bow lying beside him. No motion comes from the figure, as the priest rush out and carry the dead Gnash out of the arena.
The Aarokacra disappears, and and the fighter Frump reappears without the golden wings, as he bows ot the audience and leaves the Arena.
