The Games of Saberhaven
Nhupir the Black vs. Moonsong

Another grudge match ticket comes up in the Arena, elf versus dwarf. The elven ranger Moonsong has been on a streak and most recently defeated the powerful warrior dwarf Akira. The dwarven mentalist Nhupir brings a different flavor, his psi powers starkly different than the standard stright up fighting style of most dwarves.
When the gates open, Moonsong steaps out ready to move, waiting to see if Nhupir seems about to launch some kind of attack. His bow is drawn and an arrow in nocked.
The black-clad dwarf steps into the Arena, laughs menacingly, and fades from view.
Moonsong lets loose his arrow as the dwarf fades from view. The powerful missile streaks through the air, whistling slightly - though those in the stands can't hear it over the roar of the crowd - and misses the now invisible dwarf.
With a much less than quiet curse, Moonsong draws his longsword and crouches down, picking up a handful of sand. He slowly advances further into the Arena, trying to kick up as much dirt as possible while keeping a close eye out for any signs of the dwarf.
Suddenly, Moonsong is striken somehow blind and deaf.
Reeling from the mental blow, Moonsong falls to one knee. With a hand to his head, he stands, then throws down his weapons. Suddenly his body is somehow forced to kneel again.
"Enough of this, dwarf," he says. "Is it not enough that you have made yourself invisible, now you must blind me? Strike me down if you must to satisfy your twisted idea of pride and honor, but I will not fight you this way."
Taking the statement as a submission, the judges declare the fight finished and Nhupir the winner.
The audience sees Nhupir fade back into view a few yards from the kneeling elf. He strides confidently up to his opponent, who falls from his current position, face-first into a prostration in the dust. There he stands until the clerics and guards arrive.
The ugly little dwarf sneers at Moonsong as he stands up, then Nhupir turns away and walks to his exit, ignoring any attempt at camaraderie.
