The Games of Saberhaven
Dakkon vs. Brego

The weather in Saberhaven is perfect, drawing a moderately large crowd to the Arena today. The people are whooping, hollering and overall having a good time as they wait for the fighters to step forward. One of the fighters is the evil wood elf Brego, who is known for having a sword of incredible magical power. Opposing the elf is Dakkon, a human soldier who is trying to make up for his loss to the Warlord. The crowd hushes as the names are called and the fighters step forward.
Dakkon strides forward first. The crowd notices a faint glow surrounding him, but then gasp in shock, his crossbow is not in his hands! A lone scimitar rests in his right hand and with his free hand he pulls up a scarf. Some of the crowd laugh at the sight of a man putting a scarf on indoors, the they start cursing as he fades from sight. Brego strides in from the other side, the crowd looks at him and gives an "Ooooo". Even among men he is a giant, muscles stand out against his skin like steel cable, and his famed sword "Deathgiver" is in his hand. It crackles with power, revealing runes of death and frost along it length. Brego looks around for Dakkon then scowls and also vanishes from sight. The crowd does not like this and instantly insults and swears fill the Arena.
Then Dakkon returns to normal sight as he pulls his scarf off. He seems to be holding a dice in his right hand and then strides to the middle of the Arena. He stands there swinging his head back and forth. The crowd wonders what he is doing, standing there in the middle when there is an invisible enemy around. Abruptly there is a sort of pushing on the air around Dakkon and a muted to curse. Dakkon swings around to face it, but the pushing relents and whatever was there leaves.
Dakkon continues to glance around him and has a tight hold of something in his hand. He slowly turns in a circle, then sighs and flicks a gaze at the dice he is clutching. He stares at its surface, then pushes on one of the sides with his thumb. The crowd boos loudly at this lack of combat.
Dakkon continues to look around slowly, but there is no telltale signs of movement, or sound. The crowd is booing Brego, when abruptly their is a shimmering behind Dakkon. The soldier whirls around to face the incoming threat, his scimitar ready in his hand. Brego with a battle cry charges through the shimmering field surrounding Dakkon, as he comes through his invisibility spell is shattered, but the huge elf doesn't seem to care. He whips his lethal sword at Dakkon with a vengeance, but Dakkon enchanted scimitar reacts to the challenge and with stunning speed his sword flies to intercept. He twists the curved weapon, hooking it around Bregos straight sword, the drops his leading foot behind him, drawing the elf's sword right out of his grip, with his free hand he launches a small sphere at Brego's chest. Brego throws up his shield and blocks the sphere and the second scimitar thrust. Dakkon lunges again, but suddenly grimaces and grabs his thigh in obvious pain. Brego with elven speed and agility, dances quickly around the pain stricken Dakkon, and grabs his Blade from the ground. He whirls around and brings it up in a defensive position.
The two warriors face off, slowly circling each other. Abruptly Dakkon's scimitar lashes for with the speed of thought and before Brego registers the attack his sword flies from his hand. Brego watches arc through the air and runs to get under it. Dakkon's free hand pulls out his other scimitar and slices at the dangerous elf. Brego, ignoring Dakkon in an attempt to get his sword, does not see the silvery blade lash up at his head. The scimatar slashes up and gashes Brego's throat. The elf gasps, then falls to his knees, then falls on his face. His lifeblood pumping out of him in a small river, pooling about him. Dakkon turns to the crowd and raises his arms in victory. The healing preists rush out and chant quick spells then haul him off the field.
