The weather has continued to be good for this, the next fight in the current mini-tournament. This battle has the possibility of being an epic, with two contestants masters of their respective disciplines. The crowd falls silent as the mayor rises and walks to the front of his box, although the money continues to change hands. "Welcome citizens of Saberhaven!" He greets the crowd. "I hope this fight will entertain you as we sort out the new rankings for the competitors of this arena, but before the carnage starts, let me present to you the atagonists for this bout. "First we have a relative new-comer; a deep gnome from the depths of underdark, I give you Ekhar!" The silence continues as one of the pairs of huge doors slowly opens to reveal a short figure; some 3'3" tall, dressed in a dark robe, although there seems to be some sort of armour below. His skin is a sallow grey colour, although his features, and his exact location, are a little difficult to make out, appearing somewhat blurred. As he reaches his spot he raises his hands and then brings them back down either side of his body, chanting as he does so. As he does this his form becomes even more indistinct as motes of matter and magic form in the air around him and begin swirling about him. Soon, his shape can only just be made out inside a whorling screen. The crowd roars loudly at this obviously potent magic. The mayor smiles, then speaks once again, "and his opponent on this day; Romb!" The other doors open, and the unassuming form of Romb enters. As usual, the older human is dressed only in a loincloth, with his staff strapped across his back. But the crowd know that there's more to this contestant than at first meets the eye, and today Romb's form shines in the sun as light reflects off of his glittering metal body. Ignoring the crowd, the psionics master concentrates for a moment, and suddenly vanishes, reappearing behind Ekhar. As he prepares to attack, the lights around the gnome begin to fade, and the crowd strain forward, eager to see what will happen next. Ekhar is the first to react; telling from the crowd that his opponent hasn't gone invisble, the gnome picks the most likely action and spins around. As he catches sight of Romb, he launches himself, bodily, at the metal figure. Both go down, Romb taking very slight damage, as Ekhar tries to get a grip upon him. Romb responds with a series of well practiced kicks and punches, but the gnome is still incredibly difficult to hit, and several only connect with empty air. The human does, however, manage to land a devastating series of four blows on the gnome's head. Bruising quickly starts to form, but the gnome struggles on. The crowd cheers both of them; rarely do they get to see such a skillful tussle (unless it's down the local pub). As the two tumble on the floor, it becomes difficult to make out who is who, as the gnome attempts to apply pressure to the metal human (with some success), and the human in turn continues with his well aimed blows. However, it's not long before those blows of Romb take their toll on the small Ekhar and the gnome goes limp, falling on the ground. "Well," says the mayor, "that seems to have sorted that out. Let's get on with the next one, eh." And at this signal the priests move forward to check on the unconcious Ekhar.
