The Games of Saberhaven Flag vs. Noerdaxinanis
|
Once again the fans see the strange view of the giorillian entering
on a flying carpet playign his Drums of Panic. Seeing them not effect the
dark elf, Noerdax leaps from his hammer, raises his enchanted hammer in the
air and releases it towards the mage. The mage steps closer, glowing all over with a pale blue fire, and focuses his magical energies on the Gorillian. He's suddenly disrupted by the flying hammer, which lands with a resounding "Boom!", stunning the elf, but not sppearing to harm him physically. Noerdax grabs his other hammer and his portable hole and walks towards his enemy. Noerdax walks up to the stunned Dark Elf and brings his hammer up for a blow. Suddenly, a fireball explodes around the two, but is immediately absorbed into an ioun stone worn by the gorillain. Laughing, Noerdax strikes two blows against the prone mage, both stike as if he hit stone. Flag shakes off his stunned state and motions a number of magic missiles. The missiles are absorbed by the Gorillian's brooch. Noerdax drops his hammer to the ground. He reaches out for the elf, meaning to grab him by his neck and choke him. Seeing the attack, Flag summons two ghostly hands to the thoat of the gorillian. The hands start to choke the large beast, but agin are absorbed by his ioun stone. Noerdax grabs the mage by the neck and throws him in his portable hole which sits behind to him on the ground. He releases and grabs the hole up in one motion. The crowd cheers and Noerdax jogs to pick up his enchanted hammer. The he hears an even louder cheer erupt from the stands. He turns to see the elf, flying, no longer in the hole. The elf smiles at the eight-foot beast with a smug look. The gorillian retreats to his flying carpet. The dark elf pulls forth a wand and points it at the big ape. An Ice Storm shoots forth, which fully engulfs the struggling gorillian. Noerdax flies speedily at the dark elf. The elf himself hovers in flight and the two move further into the air for their melee. Holding his hammer high above his head, the gorillian stikes again and again at the head of the dark elf. Each shot he lands seems to be met by a stone like skin, unwavering beneath the hammer. Flag maneuvers dexteriously, weilding both short and long swords in attack pattern. His first shot goes straight to the throat, forcing the gorillian to cough blood. The dark elf manages to land two more sword shots in the ensuing battle. Raining down blows on the shoulders of the dark elf, the gorillian fighter tries to pummel him into the ground. Each attack bounces off as if he were hitting stone. The smug dark elf strikes with both swords twice. He carves small cuts on the gorillian's body, leaving tiny blood trails. Twice more the gorillian pounds on the dark elf. Twice more he strikes stone. Flag strikes at the big ape with his sword but misses withhis smaller blade. Noerdax tries to break the arm of the dark elf, and finally he hits the man and not stone! As he strikes out, the blue glow around the elf flares up and scalds the gorillian with cold fire. The gorillian seems to recover a bit, but is still hurt badly. He hesitates to strike the elf again. Not eager to face the mage's fireshield, Noerdax steps back formt he combat, taking a shot from the elf as he disengages. The gorillian backs away and throws a bead at Flag which explodes into a concussive blast though the elf manages to jump free of the sphere of force which it creates. Flag sheathes his short sword and pulls his wand of ice storms again, firing at the gorillian. Noerdax is engufled by shards of ice. As the ice storm ceases, Noerdax threows a small, 3" diameter metal sphere at the elf, which expands and binds the hands of Flag together. The elf tries to break them but fails to do so. The gorillian throws his hand over the mouth of the dark elf so he cannot speak. He thne rips a large piece from the elf's shirt and stuffs it in his mouth. Then he puts hisfeet on the elf's stomach and I looks to the judges as he let out a mighty roar of victory. The judges wait a moment, but the elf seem to be unable to stand, move his arms or speak. After about a minute, the judges declare a victory for Noerdax.
