The Games of Saberhaven Orred Aved vs. Tak'Nak'Raq
|
The battle weathered halfling steps into the Arena, inclines his head in slight bow, then runs with all due speed at the ferral dwarf, ready for any magic tricks. The Derro enters, with a faint blue glow about him, frowns a the charging opponent and casts a spell. No visible effects can be seen, but the halfling is confident he has reflected the spell away from him. As the halfling closes in, the Derro turns invisible. Tak's eyes narrow, and then a nasty grin splits his face. Thrusting one of his shortswords into the ground, he waves his free hand in the vague direction where the the Derro was before his magiks rendered him invisible. What comes from his hand is barely visable, a few mere pieces of twinkling dust. Tak laughs ferally, and sweeps his shortsword out of the earth, holding it aloft, screaming a hunting cry, waiting for his prey to become visible. The Derro appears due to the magical dust, with a scowl on his face. Tak leaps forward, his blades flashing in a deadly pattern of steel, seeking to end this battle after striping the derro of his trickery. His first strike lands in the abdomen of the evil dwarfling, but bounces off as if it hit stone. Orred returns with a blow of his own, but the nimble halfling ducks the blow. In his haste, however, Tak tries to make a fancy sword swing and stumbles, barely able to catch himself before falling down. Tak recovers his composure with lightning speed, and his impossibly quick frame leaps forward again, striking the dwarf with a flurry of blows. Before the Derro can cast another spell, Tak hits five times and takes the evil dwarf down.
