The Games of Saberhaven Bazoo vs. Ebrecus Koldar
|
Ebrecus charges over when the signal sounds, racing toward
the mighty Bazoo, stopping just short so he doesn't impale himself on
the twinheaded spears of the other Gladiator. The two gladiators step toward each other, Bazoo swinging mightily with a spear in each hand. Both spears hit Ebrecus, but stop when they touch him. Ebrecus laughs at Bazoo saying, "It'll take you a while to bring down my stoneskins." With that, Ebrecus swings his shortsword and completely misses Bazoo, almost as if Bazoo were several feet from the position he appears to be occupying. Bazoo follows up like a madman now trying to bring down the stoneskins of Ebrecus. His spear strikes, and again stops on contact. Ebrecus reorients himself, but fails to hit Bazoo with his second swing. Both contestants are a flurry of action this round...spears and shortswords are flying back and forth toward each other. All four of Bazoo's swings actually hit Ebrecus, but none of them damage the other Gladiator. All three of Ebrecus' swings horribly miss the mighty Bazoo. Ebrecus swings quickly with his shortsword, but again fails to connect the well protected Bazoo. Bazoo on the other hand loses his grip on one of his spears as he strikes, so only one of his spears actually manages to contact to Ebrecus, the other falls to the ground near him. Bazoo spend the rest of the round trying to recover from that slip of the wrist, while Ebrecus - to Bazoo's surprise - gets two more good shots at the Gladiator, both of which fail to connect. Bazoo, quick to recover pulls one of his puchik from his belt, and continues to fight two-handed as spear and puchik stop on contact with Ebrecus. Ebrecus, stands there, with a furrow on his brow. Suddenly, Bazoo feels his weapons become awkward in his hands. Also, Bazoo seems to shift a few feet in his position, almost as if he were no longer displaced. He swings his spear two more times, but not only does it appear as if the weapon takes longer to bring to bear, but it still stops when it hits Ebrecus. Ebrecus, quickly swings his shortsword. The blast that occurs when Ebrecus finally connects is quite spectacular. The short sword easily cleaves Bazoo in half, and as the shortsword kills the man, the puchik explodes, spraying the area with shrapnel. Ebrecus then strikes the ground gently, and stands to face the crowd, his manner calm as he stands drenched in the gore of his fallen foe.
