Thoughts on THX 1138
Weird little book. Really simple, _1984_ish view of the future. The fate of the woman (forget her name) I found sick and depressing. And the ending I thought was a supreme copout. I enjoyed the latter half of the book, as THX and his new friend are monitored and chased around, and all the while the bureaucrats are tallying the costs of chasing the escapees. And the actor friend, finally getting the car started, then smashing into the wall...a good scene. Overall, though, this is a movie
I intend to avoid picking up at the video store.
