In this star system cluster are located the Vergesso Asteroids, home to both a secret Rebel base and Ororo Transportation, a competitor of XTS. Prince Xizor, planning to destroy Ororo, convinced the Imperial command to send an Imperial Squadron to this sector and destroy the Rebel base.
Barabels are bipedal reptiloids who stand from 1.75 to 2.5 meters tall. Horny black scales cover their bodies, and long, sharp teeth fill their mouths. They inhabit the dark, humid world of Barab I. Therefore, the species is not widely known and few of the reptiloids have found their way off-planet. Some Barabels have taken jobs as porters and guides, and a few have even left the world with bounty hunter commissions, but the majority of the species remains untamed and uncivilized. They have a deep respect for Jedi Knights, and a few have tried to emulate the Jedi tradition despite little aptitude in the Force.
The common language of the galaxy, based upon the language of the human civilizations of the Core Worlds, is called Basic. It became the standard trade and diplomatic language during the time of the Old Republic, and has remained in use to the current day.
The Battle of Hoth was one of the worst defeats the Rebel Alliance suffered during the Galactic Civil War. After spending three years running from the Imperial fleet, the Rebels found planet Hoth's inhospitable climate of ice and snow the perfect place to hide. Unfortunately, a probe droid discovered the Rebel presence, and the Alliance High Command had to turn to desperate measures to start (and complete) an evacuation. When the battle ended, the Imperials had won a major tactical victory - their first in over three years. The Rebels were routed and their ships barely escaped the Imperial blockade intact.

The valley on Tatooine called Beggar's Canyon served as the training ground for Luke Skywalker's aerial skills. Luke and his childhood friends raced skyhoppers and engaged in mock dogfights within its twisting confines. He also spent his time riding borrowed swoops in the twisting canyon. Long ago, Beggar's Canyon had been the confluence of three rivers. Along with millions of years of wind, rain and sunlight, the flowing water had carved deep and twisted valleys into the rock.
Vidkun led Luke Skywalker and his team inside the Imperial City's subsewers below Xizor's castle. He was a married engineer who worked during the night for a very low salary that barely supplied his wife's expensive tastes. He was a short, thin man, fish-belly pale, with bulging brown eyes and a wispy beard and mustache. Dash Rendar was forced to kill him just before they entered Xizor's domain.
Black Sun is the largest criminal organization in the galaxy, with tens of thousand of employees. It is currently run by the Dark Prince Xizor. Black Sun controls one of the largest spy networks in the galaxy, and it is responsible for a lot of criminal activities in almost every sector. Nine "Vigos" coordinate this activities in the separate stellar systems.
Boba Fett is the best bounty hunter in activity, and his exploits are known throughout the galaxy. Fett's armor is full of nasty surprises. It is a weapon covered spacesuit whose armaments include wrist lasers, a jet pack, rocket darts, a grappling lanyard, and a miniature flame projector. This bounty hunter works for whoever can pay his exorbitant rates, including the Empire and Black Sun. In fact, Fett accepted the same comission from both Jabba the Hutt and Lord Darth Vader, agreeing to hunt down and capture Han Solo after the smuggler escaped from the Hoth system. Boba Fett succeeded in tracking Solo to Bespin's Cloud City, where Vader had the smuggler encased in carbonite. Then Fett had the frozen Solo placed aboard his ship, Slave I, for transport to Jabba's headquarters on Tatooine.

The reptilian Bossk was one of the bounty hunters contracted by Darth Vader to find the Millennium Falcon and her crew after the Battle of Hoth. After that, he joined the bounty hunters Zuckuss and 4-LOM to steal the frozen Han Solo from Boba Fett and receive the reward.

A species allied to the Rebellion, Bothans have an extensive spy network. Bothan spies with Luke Skywalker's help were instrumental in locating the freighter with information about a new military project of the Empire. Bothans hail from the planet Bothawui, a very cosmopolitan, clean and well maintained world. However, they also inhabit a number of other colony worlds, like Kothlis.
Boushh was the name Leia Organa used when she disguised herself as an Ubese bounty hunter to gain access to the Imperial City of Coruscant. The real Boushh was an Ubese bounty hunter who did a lot of contract work for Black Sun. He tried to rascal the organization for more credits on a delivery for which there was an agreed-upon contract. He disappeared soon after.

A bowcaster, or crossbow laser, is a hand-crafted Wookiee crossbow that fires energy quarrels. Chewbacca the Wookiee uses one of these weapons.
