Jabba the Hutt, the notorious crime lord who runs his organization from the planet Tatooine, is one of the major kingpins in his sector. His organization is into a wide variety of illegal activities. From smuggling to spice dealing, slave trading to murder, loan sharking to protection, Jabba the Hutt has his bloated fingers in all the underworld's pies. Like others of his race, Jabba is a legless, sluglike being with reptilian eyes and gross mannerisms. Approximately four meters long, Jabba is huge even among his own kind. His desert palace on Tatooine is full of all kinds of decadent luxuries, an army of alien and human criminals, droid slaves, and fawning servants. Every smuggler, pirate, bounty hunter, and thief in the sector eventually took a job for Jabba, including Han Solo and his partner Chewbacca.

The Jedi Code is the philosophy that sums up the beliefs of the Jedi Knights: "There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force." A Jedi does not act for personal power or wealth but seeks knowledge and enlightment. A Jedi never acts from hatred, anger, fear or aggression but acts when calm and at peace with the Force.
The mysterious Jix is the strong Darth Vader's assistant, sent by the dark lord to the planet Tatooine to insinuate himself into Jabba the Hutt's swoop gang, and then prevent the crime lord from killing Luke Skywalker. To accomplish his task, Jix was forced to kill the gang's leader, Big Gizz. But neither Skywalker and the rest of the gang were able to discover his disguise and true objective.
