Wedge Antilles is a starfighter pilot serving the Rebel Alliance. He is an expert X-wing pilot, often assigned to the Alliance's most important missions. He was in the X-wing squadron that went up against the Death Star and helped the Rebellion evacuate the frozen planet of Hoth. When Luke Skywalker took over the squadron, Wedge became his friend and one of his top officers. Later, when Luke decided to resign his commission, Wedge took command of the group.

Wes Janson is one of the X-wing pilots of Rogue Squadron. His comm-unit designation is Rogue Six. He fought alongside Luke Skywalker against Imperial Forces over the moon of Gall. During that battle, Rogue Six's R2 unit was sabotaged, and programmed to shoot and destroy Skywalker's starfighter. Thanks to Luke's abilities and the Force, he was able to disable the malfunctioning droid.
The most sacred Wookiee custom is the life debt. Wookiees pledge life debts to those who save their lives, forming a bond that can never be broken. Not slavery, a life debt is a sacred act of honor to repay that which is without measure.
