This was reasearched for a few years, until eventually the can was opened, and the worms spilled out. ON October 21, 1992, Lee Hamilton (Indiana Congressman) wrote the Soviet Government, asking them what information they had on the topic. They responded that William Casey had met with the Iranians in 1980, Madrid and Paris. The Russians said that the situation was a feud between the Carter campaign and the Reagan campaign for control of the release of the captives.

The Carter Administration was said to have offered the Iranians "a significant quantity of spare parts for F-4 and F-5 aircraft and also M-60 tanks ... via Turkey,". But because the Reagan Organization won the election, a secret agreement in London was reached for the release of the American hostages from Iran, as long as the U.S. continues military aid to Iran.

Does he know more than he lets on? It seems that way. He seems awfully certain of something happening in the near future. Maybe he was trying to prepare us for something? Obviously not in his presidency. Or did it happen? I especially find the part of the quote interesting : And yet I ask you, is not an alien force already among us?"
