The second PJ Murphy Invitational got under way on a cold November morning in Woodstock golf club with a select four ball this year. Surviving the 1997 cut were PJ(3rd 1997), Andy(5th 1997), Dave(4th 1997) and the newcomer Connor. All three previous players were gunning for the elusive title but it was Connor who came up trumps after 36 grueling holes of golf. It was not all plain sailing as both Connor and Andy were all square with only 5 holes to go. At the end of the day the scoreline showed a convincing win but Connor would be the first to admit it went down to the hilt. As for Dave and PJ they battled it out for 3rd place with Dave coming good on the last couple of holes.
