From lifelessness came life; from dead matter came spirit. With life came perception: the perception of beauty and ugliness, serenity and fear. The Force grew strong as life grew stronger. Life is the universe's way of perceiving itself; the Force is the strength of its perception.


There were those who were aware of the strange energies filtering about them. And they began to study this energy, become one with it. Use it just as it would use them. And about 25,000 years ago, the Jedi Order was established. A ruling council of their order was made, and the Jedi became the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy.


Around 2,000 years ago a rogue Jedi founded the order of the Sith, a cult of the Dark Side of the Force. Almost a thousand years later, war breaks out between the Sith and Jedi. During this war, the Sith turn against one another and nearly all are destroyed. One of the few survivors include Sith Lord Kaan.


Thousands of Jedi die in a great battle on the distant world Ruusan between two Jedi armies, Lord Hoth’s Army of Light and Sith Lord Kaan’s Brotherhood of Darkness. Refusing to surrender, Kaan creates a weapon that uses the spirits of the Dark Jedi. The weapon kills the Jedi and Sith, but traps their spirits within the caverns for over a thousand years. This place becomes known as The Valley Of The Jedi.


A single survivor of the battle of Ruusan reinvents the Sith order and names himself Darth Bane. He decides there can be only two Sith at one time: a master and an apprentice. The Jedi knights believe the Sith are destroyed, but this new order secretly survives for the next millenium.


Almost twenty years ago … the world of the Jedi is turned upside. A young slave born on a desert world becomes a Jedi, but he falls from grace. He brings the Jedi order low, hunting them and exterminating them at the behest of his master.
