About Me
I currently live in the Pacific Northwest, near Seattle, and have done so since the 3rd grade.

I have left my position as a Field Service Technician working for a major provider of Point of Sale (POS) equipment to retail stores.

I am now working for a subcontractor of a major internet provider as a Systems Analyst working at a Server Farm with more servers than I can count on my day off. This has me working indoors once again, rather than traveling out and about, but maybe I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to stick around one place again. .  .

In the past I have managed  Wide Area Networks and Local area Networks as well as doing Help Desk responsibilities and the maintenance and repair of computing and networking equipment..

I am certified in Computer Hardware Repair and TCP/IP Network Management.  I am also experienced with Cisco systems routers and firewalls. I have been involved with Database management and management of Hybrid systems combining Unix, 3270, DOS, and NT (beginning with a local aerospace company, which shall remain nameless) for over 20 years.

Things I Like to do!
I like to shoot high powered rifles competitively. (1000 yards +)
I am a history buff and am a Civil War Re-enactor.
I enjoy High Powered Rocketry and am a member of NAR .
I avoid cities and enjoy the outdoors - way out doors.
I hate network television, and enjoy well written movies.

(I also like to write fiction.  Mostly I write detective fiction, the cold brutal type like Mickey Spillane used to write. Featuring guys who solve cases with no sleep, hard liquor, and bullets. And they shoot real guns, the kind that have Magnum in the name, and will produce lots of flash and boom when used. You know, your basic 'Testosterone Overload' kind of fiction.)
I am currently working on three children's books as well, one of which is close to  publication.

Death and taxes may be inevitable,
death, however, does not get any worse just because congress is in session.

The opposite of war is not Peace,
The opposite of war is Slavery!

We would do well to remember;
The rest of the world is NOT inhabited by rational thinking, middle-class Americans!

If con is the opposite of pro,
does that make Congress the opposite of Progress?

Post modernity has replaced Rene Descartes' dictum,
       'I think, therefore I am,'
with a new truism:
'I prattle, therefore I am somebody.'
                                                                     ...Uwe Siemon-Netto

"The more oppressive the society, the more intricate the laws.
In Hell there will be nothing but law, and it will be meticulously enforced!"

Just because  (see quote below)

"Evil, that is, has every advantage but one--it is inferior in imagination. Good can imagine the possibility of becoming evil--hence the refusal of Gandalf and Aragorn to use the Ring--but Evil, defiantly chosen, can no longer imagine anything but itself. Sauron cannot imagine any motives except lust for domination and fear so that, when he has learned that his enemies have the Ring, the thought that they might try to destroy it never enters his head, and his eye is kept toward Gondor and away from Mordor and the Mount of Doom."
W. H. Auden
The New York Times, January 1956.

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming; WOO HOO what a ride!"
