Biography

In the beginning.

Unlike super-heroes like Wolverine or Superman, Union Jack hasn’t been just one person; the costume is currently been worn by the third Union Jack, Joey Chapman. Originally, Union Jack was a disguise worn by British spy, Lord Montgomery Falsworth during the First World War. The Union Jack costume was retired when the war ended, but when World War Two started, Union Jack fought once again; but not alone. Alongside the Invaders (Captain America, Namor the Sub-mariner, the original Human Torch, and Falsworth’s daughter Spitfire) Union Jack faced the Nazi’s greatest weapon, the vampire Baron Blood, who was actually Falsworth's brother!

The terror of the Baron. While in combat, Baron Blood crushed Union Jack's legs, which led to the second Union Jack, Falsworth's son Brian, who had also taken a super soldier serum, much like Captain America. At one point, Brian had obtained electricity powers from Thor's hammer that interacted with the serum in his veins and became The Destroyer [Thanks go out to Brian Uhe for this information.] Brian Falsworth unfortunately died in a terrible car crash. But when Captain America need help to fight Blood again, Joey Chapman donned the Union Jack costume. But to finally end the Baron's reign of terror, Cap had to do something he'll never forget; he decapitated Baron Blood with his shield.

But why Chapman.

Joey Chapman was a slacker in art school and always rebellious. But it was in Art school that he met Kenneth Crichton, the grandson of Montgomery Falsworth. But Kenneth was never much of a fighter and never had much courage, which is why he was too weak to ever follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle. So when Captain America came calling, Joey made the choice of becoming Great Britain’s greatest hero.

Why he’s so tough.

Like he predecessors, Chapman always carries his silver dagger and Webley .455 caliber pistol when he fights as Union Jack. But unlike his predecessors, Chapman was given enhanced strength and stamina by the mystic power of the Pendragon. And for a while, he even fought alongside the Knights of Pendragon.

The Baron is back,
and out for blood.

Recently, Chapman has had to deal with an army of vampire led by the mysterious and seductive Baroness. But what did she want? Well if you’ve seen the movie Blade, it’s pretty much the same concept, to be able to walk in broad daylight without getting disintegrated by the sun’s rays. But how is she going to do this? Simple; get the legendary Holy Grail. In her quest for this, she recognized the problem in Union Jack and seduced his friend Kenneth into becoming the new Baron Blood to deal with him. Although Chapman never stopped the Baroness or the Baron, he managed to kill a hefty amount of vampires before the Baroness destroyed the Holy Grail before passing it to her followers at sunrise, which killed them all, including Kenneth. But it seems that the Baroness isn’t done yet, as she was last seen in the Mojave Desert; and pregnant! And even though it wasn’t actually said, we are lead to believe that Kenneth is the father, through several scenes of the Baroness seducing Kenneth.
