Moving On

Moving on is always a hard thing to do. Moving away from GeoCities was a choice I made a long time ago. It is still a decision I must stand by. There are many other decisions I have made about moving on with parts of my life. I still must stand by those decisions as well. I have need of a space where I may put forth a few things that need said to a choice few whom I love. This is that place, that place where I can say what needs to be said to them.

From Phillipians chapter 4, verse 8:
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable; if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things."

In this time of my life, I have had to focus on the good in my life. All the good in my life centers on the select few these words apply to. You know who you are. I value truth, honesty, justice, purity, beauty, goodness... I value virtue. Someone showed me these things, though they didn't realize they were doing so. This person showed me, though I wasn't able to listen and comprehend. I think on these things now.

From Galatians chapter 5, verses 22 and 23:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

There is no law that can hold up to the law of the heart. The heart will always win out... Of course, trying to hear your own heart's wisdom is a process that is filled with pitfalls and mistakes. I have made many myself. But in the end, everything that I value, was found within myself and seen in those I love.

Friends, you know who you are, and I want you to know, I love you for everything you have taught me in silence and in words. I leave you with a powerful definition of my love for you.

From First Corinthians chapter 13:

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

"Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

"But the greatest of these is LOVE."
