When the anime Sailor Moon came out in 1992,Usagi Tsukino was a 14 year old girl who with the help of her mysterious black cat, Luna, received the powers to trasform into one of the pretty soldiers, Sailor Moon. As the first sailor scout (excluding Minako Aino), she was given the title as leader of the sailor scouts. She had the responsability of finding the Moon Princess as well as regrouping her team. However the Moon Pricess turned out to be Usagi herself. And thus began the series of events that would establish one of the most popular anime in the world, Sailor Moon.
