FROM THE VAULT

A Day In The Life Of #CR'sbar (Statistics from September 24th, 2000)

In September 2000, one of the Trekscripts ops showed me an interesting script for a channel statistics script and bot. I spoke to a few other regulars who thought it might be a good idea for the room and the yet-to-be-opened website, so I figured we would trial it out for a week in #CR'sbar. However, when the process was put into practice on September 24th, I could notice that several chatters were a little reluctant to chat as openly as usual knowing what they said would get logged and might get randomly quoted. Since some of the chatters definitely seemed uncomfortable with the unknown bot in the room, we abandoned the thing after a single day. Nonetheless, ChanServ did generate stats for those 24 hours, and I somehow saved a copy on my old computer, which I've decided to present to the website now - nearly six years on. The random quotes included are a bit disappointing, but the list of chatters that attended on this day look to be reasonably representative of the era (despite a few notable absences), so its an nice snapshot from the past for anyone interested.

Alternate #Tiberius/#CR'sbar Flash Opening

Spot designed all of the great flash animation you see on this website (for example, the logo on the index page, and all of the titles on the chatters' biographies pages). Here I'm presenting the long-lost #CR'sbar flash intro created by Spot circa October 2001.

QV's QuickVu Gallery

This is a really cool feature added to the website by QV, who served as webmaster for the #Tiberius/#CR'sbar website for most of 2003. As you can tell from this and the other pages that QV designed, she's a far more creative webdesigner than I am. The QuickVu Picture Gallery allows the viewer to cycle through all the pictures of our chatters at once - check it out.

Original #Tiberius/#CR'sbar Introduction

When we started talking about creating a #Tiberius website in May 2000 (#CR'sbar didn't even exist at that time), I volunteered to write the introduction. It was the first thing we made for this website, and it took another six months before the completed site would be available to view for the rest of the world. By that time, my old introduction was out of date, so I rewrote some of it just before the site's debut. The version that has survived has a few early 2001 amendments, but remained largely unchanged as the front page of this website for nearly three years.

The #CR'sbar Message Board

In early 2001, JediSisko established and maintained our very own #CR'sbar message forum. It never did get a great deal of activity (it was never designed to be a substitute for chat), but was particularly useful for creating polls or leaving messages for the whole of the room to see, and so on. In fact, in August 2001 I had no internet access at home, so the Message Board was my only contact with the room. Anyway, the Message Board no longer exists on the Internet, as it must have been deleted by EZboard years ago, but I found a cached file of the forum on my old computer from December 2001, which I present to you here. Of course, unfortunately none of the posts will be accessible, but anybody who had forgotten about it will get to see what it looked like.

defiant's Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb

To mark his year 12 graduation in November 2002, defiant climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and here are three pictures from that day featuring defiant, his sister and his friend. The pictures had been stored on this site for years, so I'm finally including a link to it here. Of course, this website belongs to defiant, who offered to sacrifice this webspace to make room for the #Tiberius/#CR'sbar website in May 2000. (Originally, it was a website devoted to Jadzia Dax)

#StarfleetLounge Gathering In Las Vegas (November 14th, 1999)

Meeka organised this gathering for chatters of the #StarfleetLounge during November 1999 in Las Vegas. This is a cool picture of the Lounge Lizards (and later, several #Tiberius/#CR'sbar regulars) that made the trip, standing on the transporter pad at the Star Trek Experience. From left to right, they are: LtCmdLeia, ShaTon, IrishFae, ECHO, Selena, Meeka and ZarNell.
