August 27th, 2000 - Watchmen Figures Cancelled!

Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons have put a stop to all planned Watchmen 15th Anniversary products including the awesome figures from DC Direct.

In an article at Fandom.Com, Alan Moore states creative conflicts with DC (both current and from 15 years ago) as the cause for his withdrawl from the project. DC Comics has pulled all planned commerative products and is apparently scraping the entire project.

Plans to re-release the Watchmen mini-series as a slipcase hardcover was the major product for the 15th Anniversary. A set of DC Direct figures that was slated to include Dr. Manhattan, Silk Spectre II, and the Comedian was also to be released to commerate the event. It is unknown if the figures were far enough in development that DC may attempt to release them. Watchmen fans can only hope.

August 19th, 2000 - Got my Mystics Today!

I just got my Mystics today, I hope to be putting up pics of my collection soon to replace the ones from Previews. Dr. Fate is vacuum-metallized and is awesome! I also love John Constantine, he comes with everything but the cigarette! I'll be adding a reviews section later. I have also changed where I buy my figures, I had been driving an hour to pick them up at my local shop where they were $18. I got figures online for the first time! I bought them from Toy-Republic.Com for $12.50 a pop. I had hesitated to get them online cause of shipping driving up the price to the same as my not-so-local shop, but the guys I went through had free priority shipping. So a big thanks to the guys over at Toy-Republic!!
