These ships have been called 'cozy', 'quaint', and 'downright cramped' at times. There have also been several complaints, both by crew and paying passengers, about the layout, particularly about the 20 low berths lining the bulkheads of the Common area and the accessibility of unauthorised persons into the Engineering spaces. However, even with its warts, the Kamchatka class 'freight liner' is a tough and enduring design.
