Cybertronian Confederation
Welcome to the Vorhang Universal Database. We have done our best to record truthfully all of the actions, players and events of the universe. To the best of our knowledge all of the information in the following is one hundred percent truthful. May your days be full of light and knowledge.
Definition: The Cybertronian Confederation is the confederation of the three separate stellar states: The United Cybertronian Front, The Decepticon Imperium, and the Autobot Republic. It is positioned in galaxy 28731 by Greffan star charts, positioned between the Decadreklioth and the Velta Galactic Monarchy. It is primarily dedicated to trade.
History: (Ultra Abridged and Specialized)
"Know the past, know the current, know the future, know thyself."
Maxim of the Mexic Brotherhood
The organization, which would be known as the Cybertronian Confederation began during the years when the leaders of the two primary homeworld Cybertronian factions had crash-landed on the planet known as Earth. This disappearance left two commanders in control who were in possession of a great deal less skill then their predecessors: Elita-One and Shockwave. Elita-One, the Autobot Commander, was quite intelligent…but failed to change her faction's battle tactics quickly enough to avoid egregious losses. Shockwave was in possession of no leadership capability at all, and entirely too much ego. As is to be expected, since homeguard Decepticons are a particularly egotistical and hypocritical bunch in general; numerous groups of Decepticons deserted from Shockwave's tarnished banner. He would soon realize that the best method for him to lead would be in Megatron's name, but only after losing close to sixty percent of his forces. One of the forces, which left was a group of Decepticons lead by Rumrunner and an individual known as Cash-chase.
Rumrunner wanted to found an empire where the cutthroat tactics of the Decepticons could be used for the purposes of trade and a more capitalistic gain. Shockwave, seeing Rumrunner as an affront to his power base ordered him executed. Cash-Chase, one of Rumrunner's acolytes, managed to locate several like minded Decepticons and together, utilizing three of their empire's long range ships, they set out into the void to make a name for themselves. Shockwave was too busy searching the most out of the way places of Cybertron and thusly failed to notice Rumrunner's group blasting off from the Decepticon Capital of Helex. One group who did notice was an Autobot femme by the name of Thrift; she disobeyed the orders of Elita-One, acquired a starship and crew and blasted off in pursuit of the Decepticon craft. Neither group was ever seen on Cybertron again.
As is common for almost all Cybertronian star excursions, it started off well and soon turned badly. Thrift and the Decepticon forces had the unparalleled stupidity of engaging in combat just as they had reached Greffan warpgate #4512. The resulting firefight damaged the warpgate and ended up shunting the two remaining vessels to another portion of space. One Autobot and one Decepticon craft found themselves adrift in the middle of no where. Both ships had a low survival rating given the fact they had just been fighting and stumbled into a damaged Greffan warpgate. To further complicate things, the damage the Greffan warp gate had sustained opened up a dimensional rift and a third ship, from a universe where the Cybertronian wars had never begun…arrived.
Rumrunner, in an act of intelligence far surpassing that of most Decepticon leaders, explained to Thrift that they needed to put aside their mutually destructive urges and attempt to survive in the void. Thrift reluctantly agreed, and she carried the suggestion onto the inter-dimensional ship, which claimed to have been from a faction referred to as the United Cybertronian Front. Together they all mutually crash-landed on the planet, which would be known as Kyne. Apparently Cybertronian ship technology is as bad in that other dimension as it is here.
After establishing themselves on the planet Kyne they officially wrote up the agreements, placing aside their hatreds (somewhat) and forming the Cybertronian Confederation. The Confederation was founded on the basis of trade and mutual defense. The United Cybertronian Front acquired control of the sole Greffan warp gate in proximity to the planet Kyne and the opposing factions agreed that the UCF would allow only the nation who had the most economical and profitable infrastructure would be permitted to us it in a given period. Noting his lack of knowledge in economical matters, for the benefit of his followers (and potentially because of blackmail), Rumrunner passed the mantel of leadership to Cash-chase.
"I have a greater fear for a Con Imperium trade ledger then I do for a fleet of Septhagen warships."
Tenta, Prince of the Velta.
Cash-chase began a rapid redevelopment of the Decepticons' society. He named them the Decepticon Imperium and insisted they put aside the old ways. He demonstrated his newfound belief by changing his name from Cash-chase to Chash, a symbolic breaking from the ancient ways of nomenclature in his people. Some Decepticon's disagreed with this new way of management so Chash commissioned the former leader of the group of Decepticons, Rumrunner, as the leader of the Imperial Decepticon Military Forces. Rumrunner, again demonstrating a level of intelligence surprising in a Cybertronian, attempted to open trade relations with the Greffan Navigational Guide in an attempt to acquire superior starcraft. Upon acquiring the star craft he proceeded to give an equal number to each member of the Confederation. Some have claimed that this proves Rumrunner was not a true Decepticon, but on closer examination it is quite possible he intended to gain two things from this: A stronger defense force against an outside threat and telling his enemy's that he does not fear them.
As Chash implemented his plans in the Imperium, Thrift set up the three-tier government system of what would become known as the Autobot Republic. Thrift also made sure to open up trade relations with the Velta Galactic Monarchy, the Trikian Technocracy, the Greffan Navigational Guild and the Rogan Mercantile Alliance. She also proceeded to implement fuel-efficient systems on the portion of Kyne, which was controlled by the Autobot Republic. She also instituted a somewhat strict regime of recycling and rationing, despite the fact the planet was extremely mineral rich. Although initially less then pleased with the somewhat miserly approach Thrift took towards things, the other Autobots realized that in the long run it would work out better for them…although some did leave and join the UCF.
The United Cybertronian Front, under the leadership of Venture proceeded to solidify its holdings around the warpgate as opposed to on Kyne. They were the only faction seemingly intelligent enough to contact us…the Vorhang. Venture was friendly enough to us and served as a good organizer and mediator between the two hostile factions of the Confederation. He helped to establish a unified military force consisting of UCF, Decepticon, and Autobot soldiers who would not worry about being blasted in the back by their comrades. The UCF became the spokesman for the Cybertronian Confederation. It should be noted that if not for Venture's organizational skills…the Confederation would have found itself destroyed when its links were tested for the first time in their war against the Iyjal.
A government, which has not once gone to war, is nothing but a dream.
Tysus of Nex.
The Iyjal were a race of mechanoids originating from the planet Zesta Prime. Originally developed by the Septhagen as a form of tool to be used in wiping out all non-Septhagen life. Upon arriving on the Confederation borders, the Iyjal…who were every bit the psychopaths their creators were…demanded that the Cybertronians join them in their "holy jihad" against the "unclean races" of the universe. The Autobots and UCF didn't take too kindly to this, the UCF in particular…its would seem in their universe the Septhagen had managed to destroy Cybertron and scatter their race to the stars. The Imperium didn't appreciate it when the Iyjal attempted to set down on their portion of Kyne. The war that followed was very, very, unpleasant. Kyne received massive orbital bombardment but luckily Venture and Rumrunner were capable of getting the unified confederation starfleet spaceborne and proceeded to engage the Iyjal craft in combat. Below them Thrift was using the energy she had managed to collect over the few years prior to the arrival of the Iyjal and erected a massive planetary defense shield and began to power anti-starcraft weaponry in the Decepticon and Autobot sectors of Kyne. The Battle of Kyne all in all was a siege, which took approximately 4 stellar years to finally come to conclusion, by its end Kyne had been battle hardened…but its occupants had managed a unity rarely found on colonies of necessity. They began the process of rebuilding.
Slowly the borders blurred, and where there were previously armed checkpoints there soon was little more then a casual customs check. Although Autobots and Decepticons didn't exactly like each other, and their respective leaders were positively distrustful, they had managed to establish a unified planetary peace. Thrift took a leading position on the confederation's energy council. Rumrunner continued his leadership of the unified military forces and the UCF still managed to keep a watchful eye on Chash should he decide to attempt to buy out their position and rob the balance of power from the Confederation. Chash was decidedly less then pleased at the entire situation since he found himself doing nothing but internal restructuring and the occasional black market trade. Chash's hunger grew, but it was a hunger tempered by caution. He was smart enough to ignore all of the trade offers received from the Quintesson Imperium.
The ambitious looked to the sky and Chash said to them, that is yours.
Kytx, Member of Decepticon Imperium
Chash set his hungry crimson optics onto the surrounding sectors of Kyne. He ordered several special exploration class starcraft from the Greffan navigational guild and he would have set out alone had not a UCF spy discovered this and reported it to the entirety of the Confederation. Thrift and Venture demanded that all exploratory ships should contain members from all of the groups in the Confederation. The ships set out into the surrounding sectors, expanding their group and moving their power base further outwards. Eventually, they managed to gain control of the entirety of Galaxy 28731. Upon this discovery the council of the three separate states was called together and they drew up the Treaty of Kyne.
The Treaty of Kyne placed control of all of the Greffan warpgates under control of the UCF and segmented the controlled galaxy into three equal segments, each to be controlled by one of the various factions. The balance placed on the UCF was that they could no longer command their own independent military and had to depend upon the united forces of the Decepticon Imperium and Autobot Republic. Galaxy 28731 was remarkably under populated, containing only 12 sentient species who had not yet even attained any form of spaceflight. The council of the confederation on a two to one vote decided to let the races develop on their own and in no way make contact with them until they developed stellar travel. The one vote to involve the Confederation with the developing species was voiced by Chash. The politics had been set into a nice stability, until Rumrunner walked in on the council proceedings and uttered a few simple words: "Now that we have all this territory, who's going to live in it?"
This problem was indeed great. The Cybertronians possessed no method of quickly reproducing or even replenishing lost numbers. Another war akin to the one with the Iyjal and they would be completely obliterated. The scholars of the Confederation searched through ancient databanks, pouring over each and every single word of the few texts the UCF ship had brought with them. The answer lied far in the past, before the Quintesson had controlled Cybertron. The method was simple, and although it would not produce offspring rapidly…it would produce offspring. The method was a personality joining, it only took a couple of a dozen moments but it could produce a fully functional and individual personality. The method involved the joining of two separate minds of opposing genders, the personality programming would join with that of the female…who's internal maternal programming would then proceed to randomize the various factors in each of their psychological make-ups and through that create new personalities which were stored in personality chips which began to bud off of the female's central personality core.
Once this process was begun the numbers in the Cybertronian Confederation began to steadily rise. They slowly spread out and populated worlds within their controlled area…gaining use of the materials therein. The use of the Transformation systems also gave them quite a bit of military strength, which kept any, would-be galactic conquerors from bothering them. They continued to buy warships from the Greffan, although a few attempts at developments of their own ships were attempted. Despite what jokes may be made, when the Cybertronians put their minds to it, they can build truly magnificent ships; the problem arises when they attempt to mass-produce star craft. In mass-production the quality of the star craft rapidly diminishes, resulting in the characteristically bad quality of Cybertronian manufactured star craft.
At the present moment, the Cybertronian Confederation has its optics set on the area of contested space. Chash has again risen up a sense of manifest destiny, which may lead to Confederation warcraft moving to reclaim the home planet of Cybertron. Fortunately Thrift and Venture have managed to prevent such feelings…and Rumrunner has remained oddly silent. What will result remains to be seen. It is my hope that if they do attempt it, they succeed…I do not want to know what a megalomaniac like the current Decepticon Homeguard leader Megatron would do with the strengths of an organization like the Imperium behind him.
Physiology:
Complexity Level?
Noted. Low Complexity Level.
The Cybertronian entity is one of several species of sentient mechanoid lifeforms. The Cybertronians mentioned here possess a capacity for mode-variable modification or the layman's term: transforming. Exactly when Transformation was adopted is still a matter of discussion among scholars. Physically, the Cybertronian typically stands roughly 25 feet tall, although the size variable is tremendous…going from nearly miniature at little over a foot to being several hundred feet tall. Speed variables are also highly differentiated, but the average Cybertronian in robotic form can run at speeds of about thirty terran miles per hour. Cybertronians typically weight several tons.
- Exterior Characteristics: These characteristics are tremendously varied. Virtually every Cybertronian is an individual, at least from the outside. There do exist however, several basic body types. These body types are specifically the Hunter-Seeker, Reinforced Frame and Interceptor Units.
Seeker Frame: The Seeker is primarily designed for aerial combat. It has been updated through the years in combat from its original Quintesson design. Still most seeker designs retain the ancient head vents, which once provided for proper airflow from the internal targeting computers. Typically jet thrusters are positioned in the heels, but they are used solely for purposes of thrust since most seekers are equipped with a null-gravity device.
Reinforced Frame: This body type is typically built for heavy lifting and or specialized high danger or high stress activities. An individual who needs to carry wounded Cybertronians would most likely take this body type since its heightened carrying capacity aids in transport such as that. Typically this frame is simple and pragmatic, having no vestigial systems or such. It is held to be the oldest of the remaining frame types.
Interceptor Frame: The Interceptor frame is perhaps the youngest of the three basic body frames. It is believed to have been developed after the development of the Hunter-Seeker frame. In fact it was designed to be a sort of land-seeker type design. This evolution is evident from the presence of two vestigial 'wings' positioned on the Interceptor's back, as well as increased leg size, which may have developed from the necessary leg casing for a heeljet.
-Internal Characteristics
Central fuel circulation system: The Central system pump is located in the chest of the average Cybertronian. Cybertronians are equipped with only one since they can survive its failure long enough to conceivably reach a place where they can have the piece of equipment replaced.
Respiratory system: Although it seems that Cybertronians respirate, they are in reality merely intaking air or liquid in order to cool their internal systems. This is done through a simple vacuum system, which is interlinked through the mouth of the Cybertronian. Air or liquid is intaked; it siphons off needless warmth and is then expelled.
Digestive System: The primary fuel of the Cybertronian is energon. Energon is a energy derivative coated in a layer of specifically charged atoms. The atoms' charges are nullified as they are passed through the internal purification system are processed into energy. The atoms are expelled as waste.
1.) Some Cybertronians possess an additional, more rudimentary system, which allows them to siphon energy directly from substances they ingest.
Structural System: The Cybertronian structural system tends to differ with each given frame. Typically they all retain a skull like construct and a torso frame which covers and support all of the internal components.
Processing Systems: The personality component of the Cybertronian is located within the central torso. This is the single most important element in a Cybertronian, comparable to an organic brain. The Personality component routs all of its functions through the two lobed secondary processor located in the cranium of the Cybertronian. It is from this location that the Personality Component is capable of interacting with the world around it while remaining relatively safe. Unfortunately heavy damage to this area can cause a shock which will cause the deactivation of the central personality component.
Reproduction: As already mentioned, Cybertronian reproduction is performed by the simultaneous upload of the male personality program into the female's personality program. The joining then results in the creation of a new personality. This new personality is provided a housing by special chips, which bud of off the female's central personality core.
Language:
Cybertronians typically learn languages quickly, since their own language of binary is nearly unpronounceable by virtually every non-mechanoid lifeform.
Nomenclature system: Typically Cybertronian Nomenclature is passed on a quality naming system. Example: An individual who demonstrates a need for accomplishments may be called Farstar. This method of naming is similar to most tribal systems. The UCF and the Autobot Republic follow this system. The Decepticon Imperium, with few exceptions, follows a different nomenclature system. This nomenclature system purposefully takes names, which have utterly no meaning…instead being an odd jumble of consonants and verbs.
Ship Nomenclature: Ships are typically named after concepts. No basic system exists for naming. Perhaps stemming from the fact they rarely take any true pride in them.
Technology:
General Technology:
Energon: Cybertronians, through reverse engineered Quintesson Technology. Have developed a method for converting potential and kinetic energy into a solid, but unstable, form.
Transformation: Cybertronians are capable of changing their forms into vehicles and equipment. This gives them a plus in individual combat.
Droid Technology: Cybertronians can make rudimentary droid systems. These droids are lacking in intelligence and barely qualify for the title of artificial intelligence.
Starship Technology: Cybertronian Starships are an inferior ship given their status as a minor star power. A Rogan Trade runner craft could easily out maneuver and destroy a Cybertronian made attack ship. Hence why their starships are primarily of Greffan manufacture. Despite being of Greffan manufacture they are no match for any other of the various star powers' ships in one-on-one combat.
Drive Technology: Cybertronians still use the basic, outdated, fusion core engine drive.
Medical Technology:
Medicine and Medical Treatment: Essentially on par with virtually all other star powers. Slightly more adept with basic cybernetic prosthesis then others, inferior in biology to the Technocrats, Quintesson, Velta and Vorhang.
Military:
The Cybertronian Confederation's army is a coagulation of the forces of three separate but united stellar states. While not as powerful as its neighbors the Velta or the Decadreklioth, even various star powers think twice before attempting to stir up less then friendly relations with them. Like an Agtilian Eel…they cannot kill, but they certainly can wound. Cybertronians command the smallest and weakest of the star power class fleets, but due to their location they seldom need anything larger then their present forces.
Cybertronian Starships:
"Cybertronians are very good pilots. They can fly their ships through asteroid fields, laser battles and the occasional stellar explosion…its landing they haven't quite figured out."
First Echelon Technocrat Blue Star Elite Vylan
-Capital Ships: The Cybertronian Confederation primarily relies on the Greffan built Akali class warship. These allow them to generally break even with the other star powers in small controlled engagements because of their sheer numbers. The Akali contains enough space to hold a group of 50 Cybertronians as well as 800 tons of extraneous cargo. They are also built sturdy enough to withstand smacking into the occasional planet.
Fighter Craft:
Cybertronians can typically serve as their own fighter craft, none the less they have begun production and requisition of several other fighter craft.
Flagships: A.R.S. Liberation – Autobot Republic
D.I.S. Destiny – Decepticon Imperium
U.C.F.S. Union – United Cybertronian Front
The Liberation is a strong and stout ship. A craft anyone would be pleased to have as his flagship. It is quick, powerful and is possessed of a strange delicate beauty. It is also one of the few Cybertronian craft to have made successful landing after successful landing.
The Destiny, Rumrunner's ship, is powerful although not the quickest craft in the sector. It has the highest combat survival potential of any of the Confederation's starships. Its armament places it firmly in the beta class of starship, which means it, could easily out match a squadron of ships of similar size.
The Union serves primarily as a diplomatic envoy ship. In times of duress it is capable of holding its own but only for limited periods of time. It possesses the capability to form its own warpgate.
Weapons Technology (Extremely Abridged):
Variable Use Personal Armament (VUPA): The VUPA refers to a Cybertronian's special personal armament. Not all Cybertronians use the same armament. Some Cybertronians may utilize positronic weaponry; others may use magnetic, some chemical. Cybertronians are masters at developing new types of weaponry.

Culture:
Silent falls the wind, when there are none to hear it.
Ancient are the words unheard.
Until the song is heard, none may feel true joy.
We must hear the dirge of a race dying so that we may live.
Words scrawled in a cavern on Kyne.
The culture of the confederation is eclectic. They retain the hard edge of sadness associated with their homeworld's conflict. Fortunately, the young grow ever happier…while still thankfully retaining knowledge of the horrors that lurk in their heritage. Cybertronians in many ways are typical to other races, but their existence is a silent plea for peace in a universe of conflict. They are those who struggle for order admist chaos.
Humor: Confederate Cybertronians love to laugh. They are jovial and happy folk at their less serious moments. Their fellows on the battle torn homeworld would consider theirs to be an idyllic life. Confederate Cybertronian humor typically contains elements of slapstick, bathroom humor and essentially all the types of humor you would expect from a humanoid race.
Recreation: Confederation recreation tends to run the gamut of various hobbies and activities. The primary activities among the confederation are in regards to the continuation of the race though mate acquisition rituals, shopping, watching low frequency video broadcasts and small personal projects.
Javelin: A quite complicated card game, involving impressive displays of legerdemain and acuity of perception. Masters of Javelin are considered quite intelligent and often find themselves the subjects of great acclaim.
Superstition: I discuss superstition here prior to religion because this work I assume will be used prior to actually interacting with a member of the Confederation. As such this will help to dispel any uneasiness one may experience when observing a member of the Confederation for the first time.
The Dirge of the Dead: A more recent belief, spawning from the already mentioned inscription found within a cavern on the Confederation capital world of Kyne. This superstition has it that the souls of the dead stand by at every battle, singing a mournful dirge in the hopes that those fighting them will overhear and stop. Supposedly when this song is heard breaking through the veil of death into our world all hatred and violence throughout the entirety of the universe will cease for all eternity.
Sinister: A Cybertronian Boogie Man. Legend has it he was killed on a battlefield on Cybertron and died without his left hand. So he forever haunts the dark places where young Cybertronians are so he can chop off their hands.
Religion: Cybertronian religion is primarily dedicated to the worship of a primary creator god named Primus. Primus supposedly created the entire Cybertronian race for some unknown reason and slowly guides their actions along the path to enlightenment. Different groups have different beliefs regarding how exactly this Primus intends to go about having his creations attain enlightenment.
Social Classes:
Autobot Republic: 3 classes
1.) Civilian
2.) Governmental
a.) Legislative
b.) Executive
c.) Judicial
3.) Military
Decepticon Imperium: 3 classes
1.) Civilian
2.) Governmental
3.) Military
United Cybertronian Front: 2 classes
In general the classes of the various states are considered equal. Only military and governmental systems have a ranking system of any sort. In the case of the governmental class, it is effectively more of a 'pecking order' then an actual rank structure. A person can easily change his class.
Government: The structure of the Confederation is quite obviously a confederation. It consists of the three separate stellar states each sending their own appointed leader to a council. The council's duty is then to determine the proper course of action for the whole of the confederation. Often because of their relative neutrality the leader of the UCF is appointed to be the council's spokesman.
Basic Governmental Structures for each stellar state:
Autobot Republic: Democracy
Decepticon Imperium: Plutocracy
United Cybertronian Front: Constitutional Monarchy
