We looked at the world around with brand new eyes.
At first it was silent and then you grew,
From a heartbeat to rumblings for mom it was new,
Watching HER I knew she was starting to feel you.
It was with love that we started to make ready,
A home for you to live, love, and to grow in,
With a room one day to show to your friends.
For now as you grew you brought us more joy,
Wondering if God had given us a lil girl or a boy.
It did not matter what you would be,
For in our lives you would complete our family.
But even as we lived our lives and worked each day,
It was for you that we lived our lives for,
Knowing one day we would come through the door.
The joy we each had in the task that we had done,
For me it was painting and taping it for you to see,
Mom wrote her thoughts for you to one day read.
Though we had great plans for you our lil girl,
To live, laugh, and love in this big new world,
But was not to be,
For another had plans for you, you see.
God called you home on a sad April night,
It was white wings he gave you so you could fly,
We know he smiled wide as his lil angel took flight.
He made you perfect that way for no one else could,
Now you play with your loved ones this I am sure.
Know that no matter happens or where we may go,
You are in our hearts, our minds, in our very soul.
For we may not have you now but this we are sure,
One day we will get to see your smile on your face,
As you come to welcome us home to be together
as a family at heavens gates.
