I Love You

I love you Dad, for all you've done
For everything and everyone.
For all the times, good and bad,
That you were mostly happy.
And I was rarely sad.
But now you have gone, have
Left me here alone.
I wish with all my heart and soul,
That you could return home.
The hallways are left silent, your
Artwork lacks it's gleam
Without your booming laughter,
Without your loving dreams.
I site here and think of you,
Of all the things you'll never do.
You'll never see me grow
So I will never know
What you were always going to say.
The big one will always get away.
But your not sick,
You're out of pain.
Your habit took you're life.
And saved mine just the same.
I wish that I was near you.
I want you to be here.
If you came to see me, no thought
would be of fear.
But that can never happen
Your life, eternally,
Has been left to wander.
Your soul is finally free.
Someday we just might meet again,
By chance or by fate.
Then truly in heaven I will be,
In heaven I will be.
