DEPARTURE LOUNGE - awards
Here are the awards this site has won:
[ none yet ]
Two awards are available from this site: The Hoyer University Library Award ("the HULA"), for excellence in design and content, and The Mackenzie Award, for sites this Webmaster personally likes.
The default design for the HULA is the horizontal version, however to fit in a long site name the vertical version may be used, or you can request the vertical version if this will better suit your layout.
The Hoyer University Library, as part of its heritage preservation activities (via the Purity Commission), takes pride in honouring the creators of cultural wealth, and following the Cross-Era Cultural Recognition Act (2261), awards are now able to be given chronoretrogressively. If you receive the HULA via this site, your real-time descendents will be able to claim full recognition in 2186 when the Purity Commission is inaugurated.
The Mackenzie Award is named in honour of the man now known to us only as Mackenzie. After the First Purge he was responsible for much of the collation and preservation of records which would otherwise have been lost in the mass raids of 2008. Ironically his personal records did not survive, so we know very little about him. He is believed to have died in 2034, aged approximately 70. Along with the efforts of the Hoyer family and the CC14 Data Preservation Agency, Mackenzie's devotion to preserving pre-Purge culture and knowledge have contributed much to modern society. Without Mackenzie there would be no Hoyer University, so the honour is entirely appropriate.
You may apply for both awards if you wish. If your application is successful, one or both of the awards will be personalised with your site name and sent to you as an email attachment. The preferred HTML code to use to link the award(s) back to this site will also be sent to you.
