Celtic crosses are scattered throughout the Irish countryside; a silent reminder of its religious history. Connacht is not so much a place to "see and do" as it is to be absorbed and felt. All through the county are cairns, dolmens, passage graves and prehistoric relics being testament to the poet whose life they shaped, William Butler Yeats.
