[Like My Father before Me]
The first 216 words of "Like My Father before Me" are a direct quote from the novelization of Return of the Jedi and were written by James Kahn. In the Del Rey edition combining all three books, these words appear on pages 450-451. No copyright infringement is intended.
Justification-
I am only borrowing James Kahn's words to prove a point, which is that Luke turned to the Dark Side in a piece of authorized fiction. My tales only speculate what would have happened had he not pulled himself back into the Light. This is thoroughly an act of love, and no, I do not hate Luke at all. I have actually come to love him over the course of my stories, strange as that may seem.

Carida was named by Kevin J. Anderson, but appears in a very different form in his stories (note the absence of Furgan, for one thing). Planetary names have remained constant only to avoid confusion. No copyright infringement is intended.

[The Son of Skywalker]
Mara Jade is Timothy Zahn's brainchild, and Tycho Celchu is Michael Stackpole's. (I know they aren't in the posted document as of today, but they'll show up.) Their appearances in my tales are simply tribute to their masterful creators, as with the other more widely known characters. Hopefully I do not drag them too far afield from what they were meant to be. No copyright infringement is intended.

If you wish, you may read a great deal of meaning into the absences of Callista, Akanah, Kyp Durron, the Corellian Diktat, Teneniel Ka, and Gaeriel Capiston along with many other beings who, I am certain, could have been worked into my storyline along with Mara and Tycho and with approximately the same amount of ease. Go right ahead. You could even email me to discuss it if you like. That could be quite interesting. 1
